Jackson Talks Fighting THE SPIRIT
8:32 AM CENTRAL: Samuel L. Jackson, who co-stars as the villain "The Octopus" in the Frank Miller-directed THE SPIRIT, recently spoke with SCIFI.COM about his fight scenes in the film.
"Gabriel [Macht, who plays The Spirt] and I fight all the time. I fight with The Spirit. We had choreographed fights. We did them, and there's no imagination. The big green is just for what the setting is, what the city looks like, for the mudflats where we're at, and not for things that are coming at you." Titan Has THE SPIRIT
12:24 PM TEXAS TIME: Titan Books has acquired worldwide rights to a deluxe "making-of" book for the Lionsgate and Odd Lot Entertainment production of Will Eisner's THE SPIRIT.
Featuring interviews with the cast and crew, color photos, storyboards and production art, plus the full screenplay, the book is slated for publication in December of 2008 -- ahead of the movie's release on Jan 16, 2009. SOURCE: Press Release... If you haven't checked it out by now, the OFFICIAL SITE has a video "Hello" from director Frank Miller. He talks mostly about Mr. Will Eisner -- whom he sites as his mentor -- and then comments on the cast and crew.

10:51 AM TEXAS TIME: Eva Mendes spoke with MTV MOVIE BLOG and talked a bit about THE SPIRIT. “I’m excited to be working with Frank Miller, he’s a genius...Actually, I didn’t even read a script." She added, “When I first met with him [Miller], it was actually me and Scarlett Johansson — we got there at a similar time. We actually sat down and we met with Frank together. It was fantastic, and I was just like ‘Look, I don’t even know what the script is, but I want to work with you’.”
