JETT'S BIO

“Jett” is the founder and editor-in-chief of BATMAN-ON-FILM.COM. Jett is a life-long fan of Batman (pic. right - "Jett" c. 1969, age 4) with a special affinity for the live-action adaptations of the character. He attributes his fondness of the cimematic Batman to his childhood, as he was a huge fan of the live-action 1960s ABC Television series.

Jett started BOF in June of 1998 -- originally “JettD60’s BATMAN 5 Page” -- as a hobby -- but he really hoped to "quietly" persuade Warner Bros. to produce a quality film based on the character.

While he enjoyed two of the “Burton/Schumacher” films –- and detested a couple of them as well –- Jett believed that a definitive film based on the character had yet to be produced. He wanted a film that more closely depicted The Dark Knight he know by reading the comic books.

In June of 2000, the site’s name changed to BATMAN ON FILM and had by that time acquired a fairly large following of loyal readers -- whom he refers to as "BOFers." BOF then became a huge online lobby campaign of fans for the production of a quality Bat-film produced in a manner respectful to the character.

In June of 2005, BOF’s goal was realized in the form of BATMAN BEGINS, starring Christian Bale as Batman and directed by Christopher Nolan.

Jett is proud of the fact that BOF was asked by Warner Bros. to VISIT THE BATMAN BEGINS SET in September of 2004 in the U.K. as a member of the press. BOF was also invited by the studio to ATTEND THE BATMAN BEGINS PRESS JUNKET in Beverly Hills, California in June of 2005 where Jett had the chance to meet the cast and crew as well as attend an early screening of the film. In 2007, Jett traveled to Chicago and visited the set of THE DARK KNIGHT, the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS, due to hit theaters on July 18, 2008.

Jett is also very honored that his website has allowed Batman fans to have a voice in the production of Batman movies.

Jett and The Tumbler - Beverly Hills, CA - June 2005

Jett has been a guest on many radio stations around the U.S., such as Houston station 94.5 THE BUZZ's ROD RYAN SHOW, talking about the BATMAN film series, BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT, and Batman in general. Jett and BOF have been featured in USA TODAY, VARIETY, THE GLOBE AND MAIL (Canada's national newspaper), THE BOSTON GLOBE, THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, and THE DETROIT NEWS. BATMAN movie news originating from BOF has been featured a numerous mainstream media outlets worldwide. Here are a few cool things said about BOF:

"BATMAN ON FILM has had such a positive impact on Warner Bros. in terms of the direction they are now taking their Batman film series, that all of us Batman fans owe you a debt of gratitude."
- Mark S. Reinhart, Author of THE BATMAN FILMOGRAPHY.

"I know in the case of BATMAN, a lot of the people at Warner Bros. were paying attention to this website called BATMAN ON FILM.
And they were paying attention to it quite a bit."
-
David S. Goyer, BATMAN BEGINS screenwriter.

"I've seen the website and what you are doing there and it's an amazing job."
-
Michael Uslan, BATMAN BEGINS Executive Producer.

"I love the site. During shooting , I don't think a day went by when we didn't check out the site
to see what you were reporting."
-
Chris Corbould, Special FX Supervisor, BATMAN BEGINS.

Today, Jett continues his "mission,: which is to serve as a “voice for the Batman fan” and looks forward to many more BATMAN films in the years to come.

Jett was born and raised in the great state of Texas, USA. In the “real world,” Jett has a "real job" that has nothing to do with Batman.

Jett is an avid sports fan - in particular of the NFL's DALLAS COWBOYS. He also enjoys watching movies and DVDs, playing sports video games, going to the gym, reading, Elvis, rock music, and traveling. And of course, Jett loves running and working on BATMAN ON FILM.

Jett resides in a Houston, Texas suburb with his wife “Mrs. Jett,” a Minnesota native, and their three children –- who are all Batman fans as well.
