Good gosh...AGAIN?!
Didn't this JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL nonsense die a year or so ago? Yes it did -- and let's hope like hell it stays dead. Anyway...
Teresa Palmer is the chick who was cast as the villain Talia Al Ghul -- daughter of Batman arch enemy Ra's Al Ghul. So while at a recent press event for THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, my friends over at MTV asked Palmer about the dead-as-a-doornail project. "I’m still attached to the film. But who knows if the movie is going to come off the ground or not. I hope it does, obviously. I have no idea. I’m always the last person to find these things out."
She added, "It was very bittersweet, because we got there and we were all really excited that this film was going to come off the ground. We rehearsed for a while, and then it all sort of fell through."
Whatever. I'm sure you're fine.
Really, nothing personal towards any of the cast and crew, but I just can't and won't support this film as I can't think of one positive thing that could come out of it. Sorry, just can't because everything about it had "SUCK" written all over it.
Remember, BOF broke the story that then 21 year old Armie Hammer HAD BEEN CAST AS BATMAN back in November of 2007 -- another sure sign that this film was going to be a disaster. Also, Palmer's character, Talia, was going to be the daugher of the Ra's Al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson) from BATMAN BEGINS, which "allegedly" was not to the liking of director Chris Nolan and the rest of the folks behind the solo BATMAN film series.
Hell, they couldn't even get the damn fanboys on board! That lack of interest amongst what should be the film's core fanbase was a HUGE red flag -- dont' you think?
Of course, Warner Bros. -- and props to them -- woke up and smelled the coffee and sent the Titantic back to port before it could hit the iceberg. The can of worms that would have been opened if they had gone through with that project -- which would've been out this Summer -- would have been HUGE!
Warner Bros., you made the right decision. Like I've said before, keep this project in it's coffin and focus on solo projects for these characters. Like BATMAN 3, GREEN LANTERN, another SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, etc., etc.
Now you don't need me to tell y'all that, right? Right? RIGHT?!
