Remember producer Dan Lin saying that Warner Bros. was going to
reveal their "DC ON FILM" plans this January? If you recall,
BOF wondered then if that would include a
BATMAN 3 announcement as well -- based upon
our story from November 11, 2009. At that time, a trusted
BOF source informed us that Chris Nolan and the studio would come to a final agreement whether or not the great director would helm
b3.
Perhaps we are fixin’ to find out.
Per SEEKINGALPHA.COM's transcription (via IGN.COM), here’s what the studio had to say about the matter during a Q4 conference call…
[Regarding] DC, we are going to have a fairly interesting set of announcements and presentations pretty soon … like in a matter of weeks, I think," said TW Chairman & CEO Jeff Bewkes. About our plans for DC, and basically if you look across the title of the whole band of hits, whether it’s…THE DARK KNIGHT , GREEN LANTERN coming up, Superman, there have been a huge number of franchised films that have been part of the Warner [tent pole] strategy that's been the reason for Warner's unparallel[ed] high and consistent earnings advantage over the other studios. … And DC has already been a part of that and we are now going to outline an even more expansive plan for that in the coming months.
So, in other words, STAY TUNED!
