While I didn’t like BATMAN v SUPERMAN, I am quite fond of MAN OF STEEL – well, at least 2/3 of it. I’m also someone who thinks Henry Cavill is getting a raw deal so far during his tenure as Superman.
Frankly, BvS should not have supplanted a true sequel to Cavill’s MOS. Despite how much I love Batman, I would’ve preferred to wait for a new post-THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY cinematic incarnation of the character a few more years, and rather have had MAN OF STEEL 2 instead.
And PLEASE, don’t try to tell me that BvS is MAN OF STEEL 2! Sorry, I don’t buy the company line because, well, it’s mainly PR bullsh*t. ANYWAY…
COLLIDER.COM is reporting that the fine folks at Warner Bros. is eyeing Matthew Vaughn (KICK ASS, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, THE KINGSMAN) to helm a (true, hopefully) sequel to 2013’s MAN OF STEEL.
Dear Warner Bros., y’all are on a roll with the hiring of Matt Reeves to direct THE BATMAN. PLEASE, do whatever you can to get Mr. Vaughn to say “yes” and sign the damn dotted line!
Oh yeah, let the guy have A LOT of creative control too and don't force him to beat us over the head with DCEU continuity BS!
I’m sure that fanboys will love this news via this outlet, and will champion it as being “true.” That’s because it’s something they want to hear. However, if this outlet had told fanboys something they don’t want to hear, then they’d be chalking this up as “fake news” and having a meltdown online.
God bless ‘em.
Henry Cavill's Superman DESERVES a Superman-centric, kick-ass film. Period.
