Take that Marvel!
OK, I'm kidding, but I bet Ryan Reynolds won't be doing that DEADPOOL movie anymore.
Why? Because he's been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming superhero flick GREEN LANTERN! (per VARIETY.COM)
Reynolds beat out Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper (whom I was pulling for to be honest) to nab the iconic part of DC's Green Lantern Hal Jordan.
Martin Campbell is directing. Greg Berlanti wrote the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. Donald DeLine will produce with Berlanti. Production is expected to begin in January.
JETT'S TAKE: I can dig it -- I've got no problem with the casting at all. I was pulling for Cooper as I really liked his performance in THE HANGOVER. I dismissed Reynolds because of his involvement in the Marvel movie universe as Deadpool, but I guess he's decided to trade up!
Personally, I've been banging the drum for a GL film for a few years now, so I'm tremendously happy that it's finally coming together. BOF will be covering GREEN LANTERN, so know that you can follow the film's production right here!
