In an interview with MTV, Jai Courtney - who will play Boomerang (AKA "Captain Boomerang") in the film - why he was keen on signing up for the film.

“[David] Ayer was really the major point of attraction for me with this. I remember saying, quite confidently, that there’s no way in hell I’d do a comic book movie. I’m like, ‘Man, it’s tired, it’s done, like, we’re so saturated in it right now, who cares,’ all this stuff,’I don’t go and see them.’ Two weeks later they’re like, ‘David Ayer wants to Skype,’ and I’m like, ‘Anything you want, baby.’"

“It’s David Ayer, man, he’s not going to phone it in. It won’t be like a comic book movie we’ve seen before.”

Um, I'm don't think I agree with his take on comic book films, and he kind of comes off pretentious by saying he'd "never be in a superhero film." But whatever - money talks, and BS walks, no? Check out the full video below...

SUICIDE SQUAD hits theaters on AUGUST 5, 2016!
