About That JUSTICE LEAUGE "Massive Reshoots" Rumor

Last week, a report made the ‘rounds saying there have already been “massive” reshoots on JUSTICE LEAGUE and more were coming.

According to producer Charles Roven (via an interview with COLLIDER.COM, says that’s simply not the case – though there is additional photography coming soon.

“We’re just in the post-production process. That’s where we are. We’re in the middle of it, and I think it’s pretty common knowledge that we’re going to be doing some additional photography. The complications of trying to, you know -- Henry [Cavill]’s on MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE, and our Aquaman is making AQUAMAN, Amy [Adams]’ doing SHARPE OBJECTS -- so everybody’s busy, and it’s that crazy Rubix cube of trying to find a way of getting everybody in the place to do the work that we need to do. Which is not that vast, the amount of work that we have to do, but it’s still really complicated that everybody’s in different places around the world. The reality is we are in the midst of trying to schedule the only additional photography that we’ve been trying to schedule. We haven’t done any additional photography up to this point…Since we’ve wrapped, there’s been no additional photography.”

The point of contention seems to be whether or not there have been any reshoots on JUSTICE LEAGUE after principle photography ended last October. The original report originated on SPLASHREPORT.COMwhere they said the following…

“Speaking on a condition of anonymity, [our source] said that in the 17 months between the start of principal photography and the final cut arriving in theaters in November that the film will have essentially been ‘remade…TWICE.”’

I went back and reread that original report and they never said outright that reshoots took place after the end of principle photography. So, is it possible – and I brought this up on the latest BOF PODCAST – that the “significant reshoots” the outlet’s source refers to took place DURING principle photography? I say yes, it’s certainly possible – especially when you take into account how many changes were made to JUSTICE LEAGUE both before and during the original shoot.

Look, I really don’t care how much or how little additional photography will end up having taken place on this film by the time the film hits theaters in November. If it has been remade twice, so what? If it all means that JUSTICE LEAGUE will end up being a good movie, that’s a good thing.
