Writer: James Robinson

“Face to Face” continues in DETECTIVE COMICS #819 (part 5 of 8).

Finally things are starting to get with it! When we left off in part 4, The Batman had finally confronted Harvey about the string of murders taking place in Gotham. Harvey denied doing them to The Dark Knight -- or did he? While he looks guilty as hell, and everyone thinks he’s the culprit, The Batman seems to be holding off condemning Dent for the moment.

A lot of the action found in this story takes place in Gotham’s sewers, as The Batman and Robin are looking for Orca (a goofy character IMO). During their search, they run into Killer Croc and Batman and Robin have to work together to take down. There has been a lot of this in “Face To Face;” Batman and Robin working as a team.

The story ends with Batman and Robin finally finding the target of their search, Orca. To learn her fate, read the comic -- I won’t spoil it for you.

We are also left with a cliffhanger in which we find Harvey in a seedy Gotham motel having a conversation with, well, just guess. Here’s a hint: “With me, EVERTHING makes sense. LOOK AT ME, HARVEY.”

Also found in DETECTIVE #819, is another side story feature the Jason Bard character. Bard, if you will remember, has been hired by The Batman to do his daytime detective work. This time, we find Bard interrogating Orca’s former husband. The side story also ends in a cliffhanger someone getting shot and The Tally Man making an appearance.

All in all, a fairly good story as “Face To Face” is rapidly moving to its finale.
