Misc. TDK Updates/Blurbs for 6/27/08

5:37 PM TEXAS TIME: My man Robert over at IESB.NET shot me an email to inform "Batman Nation" that they've got 12 EXCLUSIVE TDK VIDEO CLIPS! Just tell 'em that "Jett" sent 'ya...

Look, I'm telling y'all straight up, OK? I've got LOT'S of feedback from all my insiders, colleagues, and frankly, some BIG-TIME FOLKS. And all of them are telling me that THE DARK KNIGHT is “unbelievable” on UNBELEVABLE proportions. Y’all, I swore up and down that I’d never see hype for a BATMAN film again like I witnessed 19 years ago. But honest to goodness, the excitement for THE DARK KNIGHT is certainly knocking on the door.

8:13 AM TEXAS TIME: The AP's David Germain has an article out about last night's TDK press screening. Here's an excerpt:

The buzz over Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in "The Dark Knight" for the last several months was justified. With his final full film role, Ledger delivers what may be remembered as the finest performance of his career.

A press screening of the "Batman Begins" sequel Thursday night had the audience cackling along with Ledger's Joker, a depraved creature utterly without conscience whom the late actor played with gleeful anarchy.

At times sounding like a cross between tough guy James Cagney in a gangster flick and Philip Seymour Hoffman's fastidious Truman Capote, Ledger elevates Batman's No. 1 nemesis to a place even Jack Nicholson did not take him in 1989's "Batman." Nicholson's Joker was campy and clever. Ledger's Joker is an all-out terror, definitely funny but with a lunatic moral mission to drag all of Gotham, the city Batman thanklessly protects, down to his own dim assessment of humanity.

Spewing alternate personal histories for how he got the horrible scars on his face, the Joker hides behind distorted clown makeup that looks like a chalk drawing left out in the rain. The Joker masterminds a series of escalating abductions, assassination attempts, murders and bombings, all aimed at calling out Batman (Christian Bale) and proving to the tormented vigilante hero that they are two sides of the same coin.

4:00 AM TEXAS TIME: PARADE.COM has an interview with Christian Bale. Here's an excerpt:

"With Bruce, what we have is no longer the angry, young man. We have somebody who now finds himself confronted with the responsibilities of power, not the pursuit of it. He has been surprised by the fact that this is clearly not going to be an endeavor with a finite ending. What Batman is all about is a double-sided edge; there's a duality to this character, which makes him still interesting to play in the sequel -- I hope in a third. And I'm working with people who are going to inspire but also demand that I come up with something new. I do love the unknown, but there's more to investigate in Bruce Wayne and Batman."

"I hope in a third." As does "Batman Nation" Mr. Bale...

That Comcast TDK website has a preview of "BATMAN UNMASKED" -- a documentary that will soon be on THE HISTORY CHANNEL. >>> CLICK HERE for the preview...

Our old friend "Slappy White Dog" emailed in with the following report:

Hey Jett,
Today here in NYC THE DARK KNIGHT screened at the Warner Bros. screening room that was completely full and packed with industry folk -- and it received a big standing ovation at the end. Two friends were in attendance -- yours truly, Slappy -- was not unfortunately though! Here are some quotes from our conversation.

“Let me say this…THE DARK KNIGHT is the best film of the year. The screening room was packed and got a wild standing ovation at the end. I was blown away. The 2 hours and 32 minutes really move. Ledger is absolutely brilliant! You will be beside yourself.”

The other friend called me and said, “Just saw THE DARK KNIGHT. It's an absolute grand slam for Nolan! One for the books.”

It's looking more and more like TDK is something really, REALLY special...

Got an email from a colleague of mine who writes for a major movie website. He saw TDK Thursday night and said the following: "I saw TDK last night. It was a masterpiece! Best picture of the year. Seriously!" Like I just said, this is going to be something really damn special...

Another cool TDK image from that batch of official movie stills released by WB yesterday:

Also part of that release was the credits which revealed the tribute to both actor Heath Ledger and F/X tech Conway Wickliffe: "In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe."

Two more editions of "GOTHAM TONIGHT" have shown up on YouTube: CRIME IN GOTHAM "ESCALATES" & JIM GORDON.

Letterman on TDK
Misc. TDK Updates/Blurbs for 6/26/08

Thursday, June 26, 2008

2:39 PM TEXAS TIME: Warner Bros. has released to the press a ton of, well, "publicity stuff" for TDK including this pic below:

If there's one one thing that I absolutely demanded to see in this film was, well, a scene like THIS! (Truth me told, I've demanded A LOT of things of "BATMAN ON FILM" since I started this website 10 years ago!) Anyway, more REALLY GOOD TDK stuff -- I mean REALLY GOOD -- coming from BOF over the next few weeks, FYI...

Another VERY cool video has been posted over at the TDK Comcast site and you can check it out HERE. (Thanks to ALL the BOF'ers who sent in the link!) And...

BOF'er "Jon" sent along the following link for y'all - AN INTERVIEW WITH HEATH LEDGER. Looks like the print folks did a different set visit than us online guys. Regardless, GOOD stuff here from next year's "Best Supporting Actor" winner.

9:09 AM TEXAS TIME: Below is one of the best TV spots I've seen for TDK yet...

6:04 AM TEXAS TIME: Not only has PETER TRAVERS SEEN/REVIEWED TDK, but so has David Letterman. According to BOF'er "Peter C.," Lettman and his staff were given an early look at the film and Lettman seemed to really dig it -- particularly Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker. You can see the video of Letterman discussing TDK HERE...

BOF'er "Mike T." alerted us to a hidden message from The Joker in the latest edition of "HA HA HA TIMES." If you've noticed, there are letters circled in red which spells out the following: "Herrings are red, corpses are blue, you're on the right track, but you don't have the clue." Hmmm...

Here's the footage from "ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT" shown yesterday (6/25):

Huge Box Office for TDK?
New "Ha Ha Times"

1:24 PM TEXAS TIME: Here's an excerpt Peter Travers of ROLLING STONE's review of THE DARK KNIGHT:

"Heads up: a thunderbolt is about to rip into the blanket of bland we call summer movies.

The Dark Knight, director Christopher Nolan's absolute stunner of a follow-up to 2005's BATMAN BEGINS, is a potent provocation decked out as a comic-book movie. Feverish action? Check. Dazzling spectacle? Check. Devilish fun? Check. But Nolan is just warming up. There's something raw and elemental at work in this artfully imagined universe. Striking out from his Batman origin story, Nolan cuts through to a deeper dimension. Huh? Wha? How can a conflicted guy in a bat suit and a villain with a cracked, painted-on clown smile speak to the essentials of the human condition? Just hang on for a shock to the system. THE DARK KNIGHT creates a place where good and evil — expected to do battle — decide instead to get it on and dance. 'I don't want to kill you,' Heath Ledger's psycho Joker tells Christian Bale's stalwart Batman. 'You complete me.' Don't buy the tease. He means it."

Oh yeah, he give is 3.5 out of 4 stars. That's pretty damn strong. (Thanks to "Ian de Leon" for the heads up!)

1:03 PM TEXAS TIME: Alright, BOF is starting a new TDK contest/giveaway -- which is actually the second in a series of 'em celebrating the release of TDK! Anyway, CLICK HERE to see what BOF's got and to enter...

BLACKFILM.COM has an interview with Michael Jai White who plays the mobster "Gamble" in TDK

9:10 AM TEXAS TIME: According to THIS REPORT (Thanks to BOF'er "Ian"), THE DARK KNIGHT's box office is going to be pretty damn huge. Here's an excerpt:

81% of male moviegoers and 66% of female moviegoers polled June 10-15 intend to see THE DARK KNIGHT opening weekend. 100% of ticket buyers polled were aware of TDK's release this summer, compared with 49% of ticket buyers three weeks before THE INCREDIBLE HULK and 36% of buyers three weeks before IRON MAN.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK muscled its way to a $54.5 million opening, while IRON MAN bowed with $98.6 million. The biggest opening of all-time was last May's SPIDER-MAN 3 with $151.1 million, a number I expect THE DARK KNIGHT to possibly challenge on July 18th.

Cool! Also, I know that ticket sales for TDK through BOF (via FANDANGO.COM) have been off the chain -- especially for that first showing at 12:01 AM on July 18th. I'm also hearing it's getting close to impossible to score IMAX tix to that first midnight showing.

6:50 AM TEXAS TIME: There's a new edition of the "HA HA HA TIMES" for your reading pleasure, FYI...

MTV has an exclusive, 5 minute clip of BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT and you can check it out HERE...

Speaking of B:GK, BLACKFILM.COM has an interview with Gary Dourdan who voices "Crispus Allen."

New TDK TV Spot
Posted by: Jett
Tuesday, June 24, 2008

10:27 AM TEXAS TIME: There's a GREAT new TDK article via WIRED.COM and you can read it HERE. (Thanks to all who sent in the link!)

5:30 AM TEXAS TIME: I'm certainly not going to try to keep up with every single TV spot for this film, but it certainly looks like new TDK spots are appearing everywhere. For example, I was watching AMERICAN GLADIATORS last night (Hey, my 7 year old loves that show!) and low and behold, a new TDK commercial. I believe this was it...

Now tell me that they haven't NAILED The Joker! DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF, you know? Anyway...

As you all know, Sen. Patrick Leahy has a small role in THE DARK KNIGHT. Check out THIS NICE ARTICLE about the Senator's love of Batman and his "Bat-work" for his local library.

Monday, June 23, 2008

1:42 PM TEXAS TIME: That new episode of "Gotham Tonight" which focuses on Bruce Wayne is now available in its entirety at GOTHAMCABLENEWS.COM...

BOF'er "Chris Z." alerted me that the 11PM (Eastern) edition of ESPN's "SPORTSCENTER" on June 30th is being sponsored exclusively by THE DARK KNIGHT...

If you haven't seen the cover of the new Blu-ray edition of BATMAN: THE MOVIE -- the 1966 one -- here it is:

And I will be adding that to my collection when it's released on July 1st!

7:17 AM TEXAS TIME: In the final installment of BOF's TDK set visit reports, I've got The Batman himself, Christian Bale! >>> CLICK HERE TO READ.

Caine Predicts Oscar for Ledger
Posted by: Jett
Sunday, June 22, 2008

8:08 AM TEXAS TIME: It appears that Sir Michael Caine was so impressed with Heath Ledger's turn as The Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT that he's predicting the late actor might earn himself an Oscar. Here's an excerpt from an interview with PEOPLE.CO.UK:

Caine, contemplating his co-star's loss, goes so far as to predict Ledger might win an Oscar...for his role as The Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT. "He was just so scary. Everyone was worried beforehand, because we knew he was going to be compared with Jack Nicholson's brilliant Joker in the 1989 BATMAN. He surprised the life out of us all."

There's a new "Bat-Poll" - Predict TDK's Box Office.

8:28 AM TEXAS TIME: The Batsuit and a small scale version of The Tumbler are on display in Times Square and BOF'er "Rod" sent in some pics. >>> CLICK HERE to see 'em...

A new episode of "Gotham Tonight" is coming that focuses on the life of "Playboy Billionaire Bruce Wayne." There's a preview up over at GOTHAMCABLENEWS.COM.

TDK Set Report, Part 5

5:28 AM TEXAS TIME: In Part 5 of BOF's TDK Set Report, we've got Lindy Hemming, Nathan Crowley, Chris Corbould, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven. >>> CLICK HERE TO READ.

3:07 AM TEXAS TIME: It seems that the latest viral game led to the following (click to go to the video):

Clicking on the link leads to a "security video" that has a very brief shot of the very first image of The Joker that was released in May of '07...

THE DARK KNIGHT tickets are now available over at FANDANGO.COM. If I were planning on going to the 12:01 AM screening on July 18th, I'd get my tickets early. Looks as if these showings are going fill up fast...

My friends over at LATINOREVIEW.COM have a very nice interview with Nestor Carbonell who plays the mayor of Gotham in TDK. Here's an excerpt:

I know some folks who have seen the film and tell me that when you see Ledger playing the role he is The Joker.

Carbonell: "Exactly, he has apparently fleshed out that character, in his own way obviously, but to the point where he left a major impression on so many people who have already seen it. In fact I just spoke with someone from Warner Brothers who told me that it's absolutely Oscar worthy. It's an unbelievable and breathtaking performance."

When the movie started filming it was based around the Joker, which is Heath Ledger's character. Did you have any scenes with him at all?

Carbonell: "I am in a couple of scenes with Heath but I really didn't have much interaction with him in the film. There was one particular moment that comes to mind that I did take note. I announce to a group of police officers and there is a big cheer in the room. Heath Ledger is behind bars, and it's in the trailer actually, and it wasn't scripted. He improvised this where he started clapping along in a very mocking sardonic way. Immediately I knew 'Whoa, this guy's got this role right in his veins. He knows this guy really well.' That was one observation I had, but I didn't have much interaction with him. I wish I would have had more. From what I understand the work he does in this film is just outstanding and unbelievable. I haven't had a chance to see it but others have seen it. They said it was incredible."

HARVEY DENT HAS WON! Email from his campaign:

If someone were to tell me four months ago that Harvey Dent was going to win by the biggest margin in Gotham City history, I would have directed him to Arkham Asylum. But that’s the big story today. Thanks to the incredible efforts of people like you, we have changed the fate of Gotham City.

Harvey Dent won every precinct, every neighborhood, every demographic, and every gender and age group. His sweeping victory shows just how far the desire for real change goes in Gotham City.

This is not just Harvey Dent’s victory, it’s your victory. You passed out flyers, rallied, marched, created political videos, and got out and voted. You made your voices heard. And today, the entire world can hear you. Today, “Take Back Gotham” is not just a slogan – it is a reality.

This is the last campaign email we’re sending out. Now, we turn our energies to the hard job of fighting and winning the war on crime and corruption. We’ll need your help – to keep the pressure up on the politicians, to show the criminals our will, and to support Harvey Dent’s crackdown on corruption.

Together, we will save Gotham City.

Allan Cypes,
Media Manager

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

7:46 AM TEXAS TIME: SPOILER ALERT! There be info coming out now that we're nearing the release of THE DARK KNIGHT that you may want to avoid. Consider this a "Heads Up!" and be leary of where you surf the Net -- hell, even here to a certain degree. FYI...

BOF'er "Mark S." sent me a link from JSONLINE.COM with a nice report of the TDK coaster opening at Six Flags Great America in Illinois.

2:47 AM TEXAS TIME: The folks over at Warner Bros. shot BOF and email to tell us that the official site for TDK has been updated -- THEDARKKNIGHT.COM. And really, there's some good stuff there -- especially the wallpapers. I know a few of y'all have been "upset" about the lack stuff on the official site (*cough* VIRALS! *cough*), so this is for YOU!

Speaking of website updates, the OFFICIAL BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT WEBSITE has been updated as well.

That's some damn cool stuff! Good time to be a Batman fan!

7:47 AM TEXAS TIME: Check out that HERSHEY/REESES TDK TIE-IN and listen to what may be a snippet of TDK music. Different, but very similar I'd say (Thanks to "Manny C.")...

A BOF FYI: "BATMAN FOREVER Blogged" will be available this weekend as well as my review of the latest issue of BATMAN.

Tennant Covets "Mr. E. Nigma"
Posted by: Jett
Saturday, May 10, 2008

2:37 PM TEXAS TIME: What amounts to the kiss of "I want to play a Batman movie villain" death (*cough* Sean Young *cough*), DOCTOR WHO star David Tennant says he’s love to play The Riddler in a Batman movie.

"I'd love to play the Riddler and be bad to Batman," the actor told the DAILY EXPRESS.

Evidently, Mr. Tennant‘s exposure to the Batman mythos is limited to only the 60s TV show. "It was so much fun to watch [Yes, it was. It made me a Batman fan. - Jett]. I thought The Riddler was one of the most freakish villains, especially with that wild laugh.”

“That wild laugh.” *rolls eyes* Dude...DUDE! *shakes head* Anywho...

I must say that'd I'd love to see Mr. Nolan's take on that character. And The Penguin. And Catwoman. And The Bookworm. OK, I'm joking...

We went shopping again.! Check out the latest SCATTERSHOTS.

Pretty cool,huh? Anyway...

I've got ALL the emails about the "official" Heath-Joker shirts. At this time -- while I know they were very interested -- I'm going to say don't count on it. SO...

I say we all wear the "Heath Joker T-Shirt" of our choice this July when we go see TDK for the first time. If you want to wear a purple wristband in his honor this summer, do it!

If you want to make a donation to a charity in Heath's name as well, do it! (I've heard that he was partial to ONE.ORG -- that's where BOF's donation went, FYI.)

So pass the word: Heath-Joker T-Shirts on July 18 (or whenever your country's premiere takes place!)...

100GRANA.COM has a frame-by-frame breakdown of the new TDK trailer (#3). It's in Portuguese, FYI.

Too Early For BATMAN 3 Talk?
Posted by: Jett
Thursday, May 8, 2008

1:54 PM TEXAS TIME: Do y'all think it's too early for some BATMAN 3 -- TDK's sequel -- talk? HELL NO! So, I thought a BOF MAILBAG on the subject was in order.

Monday, May 5, 2008

8:49 PM TEXAS TIME: Our insider "Slappy The White Dog" is back with some excellent and interesting insight into today's leak:

“Thought ol' Slappy should sniff his way in with a little insight into what has found its way onto the Net.

It's real, however it's one of the very early concept designs (remember what I reported to you regarding the look of The Joker before that was public knowledge? This image of Two Face is from around the same period of early design tests). Just like the early concept design of The Joker largely informed the final look, it wasn't dead on (i.e. They decided to retain the purple suit rather than the raggedy, pieced together costume, etc), but certain elements carried through to the final screen version (The “Cut Smile“).

In the case of this particular design, it's closer to what you'll see than that early Joker design was, but it's not a good representation of what it looks like on camera (and, as I alluded to above, it's not *exactly* what the screen look is). It's not really what you'll see in the movie, but the general idea is still very much intact.

I don't mean to be overly cryptic, but I know that a lot of people are trying to retain the surprise of the Two-Face look, and this concept art doesn't properly represent what Aaron looks like onscreen.”

So there you go. We won't be as spoiled as we thought we had been when it comes to Two Face.

8:07 PM TEXAS TIME: It looks as if the OFFICIAL TDK WEBSITE has been (or is being) updated. (Thanks to all the BOF'ers who sent in the info!)

7:21 PM TEXAS TIME: FYI: If you are avoiding spoilers, you might want to avoid where you find your TDK news over the next couple of days. Why? Well, a MAJOR spoiler was leaked (a picture) and it's something many will not want to see, trust me.

12:31 PM TEXAS TIME: It's time to start planning those TDK watch parties! HERE is the preliminary info on BOF's event.

7:24 AM TEXAS TIME: Below is a pretty cool still from the new trailer of The Joker addressing the mob bosses of Gotham:

The gang's all here: Maroni, The Chechen, Gambol, and the others (Thanks to "Jabroni")...

Our old friend Kris Tapley has a nice rundown on the *possible* origin of Two Face in TDK and you can read it HERE...

2:25 PM TEXAS TIME: Well, the TDK toys ARE out there -- I guess it just depends on where you look (*cough* Wal Mart *cough*). Here's "The Jett's" first toy report:

Our antique dining table is becoming a TDK shrine!

Gotta find that big-deluxe Batman action figure and that stuff from DC DIRECT...

My bad, sent y'all to the wrong link last night. You can read the interview with Alan Burnett HERE, or click on the thumbnails below:

10:11 AM TEXAS TIME: The report on this past Monday's (4/28/08) viral event HAS BEEN UPDATED with video from the New York City shenanigans via WIZARDUNIVERSE.COM...

FYI: BOF has received several reports from readers telling me that they saw the new TDK trailer in front of IRON MAN. So if you don't want to wait until Sunday when it's RELEASED ONLINE, go plunk down $8 bucks and check it out. (And stay for the film -- It's pretty good!)

Thursday, May 1, 2008

8:15 PM TEXAS TIME: Since it is definitely “Batman on film,” BOF has an interview with Alan Burnett talking about his segment on the upcoming BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT. Click on the image below to read it:

Like this is a shocker.

THE DARK KNIGHT has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for "intense sequences of violence and menace."

I wonder who dishes out "violence and menace?" ;) (Man, I can't wait to see The Batman pound The Joker's sorry ass into the ground when it's all said and done!) Anywho...

Definitely NOT BOF, but I did see IRON MAN on Tuesday and HERE'S MY REVIEW. Solid. No BATMAN BEGINS, but solid nonetheless...

One last thing. Yes, I know that there's this video making the rounds comparing the first full TDK trailer to the "trailer" for BATMAN '89. FYI: THAT'S NOT THE REAL B89 TRAILER! So please, no more emails about Nolan paying homage to Burton or Nolan ripping off Burton, OK?

9:31 PM TEXAS TIME: A quick roundup of the "Trailer 3 Viral" that took place in London, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco can be found HERE...

6:37 AM TEXAS TIME: The new trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT will be released online this coming Sunday (May 4th) at WHYSOSERIOUS.COM/HAPPYTRAILS. So far, only a few lucky folks have seen it -- first at New York Comic Con (where I saw it) and yesterday during the new virals. It's leaked online (That's a shocker), so I'm sure you can figure out where to find it -- although it won't last long I imagine...

This is new too (Click to enlarge):

Upcoming Viral Details

Saturday, April 26, 2008

1:10 PM TEXAS TIME: If you haven't noticed already, "IT'S ALL PART OF THE PLAN" has been updated. You can click on the portraits and get the exact spots folks are supposed to meet on Monday (April 28th). For example in Dallas, the location is Northwest Freeway and Airline Rd. Here's the exact directions:

"You'll need to be in contact with a partner-in-crime who has online access to relay your instructions once you're there. These instructions will give you the TRAIL to follow, but be sure to look both ways when crossing the street; we wouldn't want you to make an unscheduled visit to the ER now, would we?

Put on a smile and plan to spend about an hour or so bonding with your fellow clowns."

Hell, I might fly up to Big D myself and check this whole thing out in person!

I wonder why Dallas got stuck with William H. Taft? (Uh, my bad -- and I have a degree in History! That's Grover Cleveland as pointed out be "Supersam") Why not our great president from Texas? You know, Lyndon B. Johnson...

"Andrew B." was kind enough to send BOF pics of his "Operation Slipknot" package. CLICK HERE (or on the thumbnail below) to check 'em out.

"Operation Slipknot" Package Contents

Thursday, April 24, 2008

8:44 PM TEXAS TIME: The end result of "Operation Slipknot?" Check it out (click to enlarge):

Also, I'd keep an eye out on this website: WHYSOSERIOUS.COM/ITSALLPARTOFTHEPLAN...

..."Four Days." Something's fixin' to go down.

8:22 PM TEXAS TIME: The Joker has chimed in on Jim Gordon's "Operation Slipknot" shenanigans. Seems he's texted the following message to the folks who received the packages today: "I wouldn't worry about Gordon. IT'S ALL PART OF THE PLAN!" (Thanks again to "Jake S.")

7:45 PM TEXAS TIME: Well, it looks as if "Operation Slipknot" is complete. The latest from Lt. Gordon via GPDMCU.ORG/OPERATIONSLIPKNOT:

"Operation Slipknot is complete. Even though three suspects remain at large, your work represents a huge step forward in cleaning up our beloved city.

The fugitives are being arrested, handcuffed, and extradited back to Gotham for prosecution.

Doesn't it feel better to be on the right side of the law for once?

Thanks to you, Gotham can hold its head high once again. But do me one favor... stay out of trouble.

So, what's next? Probably something with Harvey Dent, since his election campaign just sent out a new email thanking all of Harvey's supporters and saying, "See you on election day!"

10:18 AM TEXAS TIME: "Jake S." received one of the "Operation Slipknot" packages and you can see the contents HERE or by clicking on the thumbnail below.

12:56 PM TEXAS TIME: More shirts:

I suspect that there will eventually be more than we can keep up with...

Getting emails from BOF'ers who have spotted TDK toys already on store shelves, FYI.

10:11 AM TEXAS TIME: OK, I just got an email from Jim Gordon which said the following:

"OK friend, you’re up to bat now. You have yourself a new assignment: Operation Slipknot."

Hmmm. Operation Slipknot?" It also seems that the GOTHAM INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL is involved with this opperation.

New TDK Joker Tees
Trailer 2 Info

Posted by: Jett
Tuesday, April 22, 2008

7:12 AM TEXAS TIME: A couple of new Joker Tees are available and are rather cool:

Let's see, we're about three months out 'til TDK hits theaters, so I'd expect to see tons of TDK gear and merchandise become available...

As you probably already know, the new full trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT will premiere in a little less than two weeks. Since BOF is honoring the "unofficial embargo" on the trailer's details, I won't say anything more than it was really, REALLY good and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. More Harvey Dent and more Joker...

I've had a lot of emails asking, so here's what I know about TDK action figures and toys: They should be hitting story shelves around the first week of May, so I've heard.

UPDATE: I've received confirmation from those that would know that TDK merchandise will be available at Wal-Mart on May 5th.

TDK @ NYCC...Sort Of
Jim Gordon Emails!

Posted by: Jett
Saturday, April 19, 2008

6:17 PM NEW YORK CITY TIME: As I said, no Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, or TDK panel, but TDK did represent -- to a standing ovation by the way! I saw IT and you will too VERY soon! (While there is no official embargo, Mr. Nolan via Paul Levitz asked viewers to basically keep the details on the down and low and BOF will honor that request.)

8:31 AM NEW YORK CITY TIME: Greetings from New York City BOF'ers! I'm a tad tardy on this one, but we were "traveling" all day yesterday (We had a 2 hour delay out of H-Town to NYC, Grrrrr!). Anyway, once we landed, we found that both of us (me and Mrs. Jett) had received a voicemail from Jim Gordon -- as well as a phone poll about Harvey Dent! So for more, CLICK HERE!

TDK DVD Release Date
Posted by: Jett
Friday, April 18, 2008

9:06 AM TEXAS TIME: My friends over at LATINO REVIEW informed BOF that they found out the release date for the TDK DVD: December 9, 2008...

Worried about those rumors that some of Heath Ledger's scenes as The Joker may be cut? Well DON'T BE. There is NOTHING to worry about -- and you can quote me on that. ;)

No TDK Panel @ NYCC
Posted by: Jett
Thursday, April 17, 2008

9:50 AM TEXAS TIME: There will be no TDK panel with members of the cast and crew at this weekend's New York Comic Con. I believe that there will be a short presentation from Warner Bros., but no Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, etc. You can bypass the bank on this one and go straight to the vault.

9:50 AM TEXAS TIME: From what I've been able to gather, Warner Bros. has 15 minutes between the THE INCREDIBLE HULK and THE SPIRIT presentations Saturday. Allegedly, they will show footage from SPEED RACER and THE DARK KNIGHT. I have no idea if it's new stuff or material we've already seen (i.e. TDK PROLOGUE, first trailer, the footage from Wizard World Chicago, etc.). I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of TDK viral stunt took place during the convention.

TDK: Long Runtime?
Posted by: Jett
Wednesday, April 16, 2008

1:17 PM TEXAS TIME: The rumor going around is that TDK is going to clock in at nearly 3 hours! The scuttlebutt suggested that TDK was going to longer than BEGINS and that seems to be the case. Honestly, I have no problem with a 160 to 180 minute Bat-Flick -- as long as it's a good one. And all signs point to TDK being a great one. SOURCE: DARKHORIZONS.COM...
