Wednesday, March 12, 2008

6:59 PM TEXAS TIME: Just a reminder, the “Dentmobile” can be found tomorrow (March 13th) in: TEXAS (Houston), Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Columbus (Ohio), and Arlington (Virginia). CLICK HERE for specific times and locations. And...

...for you New Yorkers via an email from "Team Dent": "For those of you who can get down to Rockefeller Center tomorrow morning between 6 and 9 am, there’s a very good chance your friends might be able to see you on a certain morning television show."

9:59 AM TEXAS TIME: Make sure to check the schedule -- WHICH IS NOW POSTED -- to see when the "Dentmobile" will be at a locale near you! It's going to be in my neck of the woods tomorrow, so BOF will be there covering and videoing the event! It's also stopping in Austin and College Station here in Texas -- I'm sure the Horns will outdo the Aggs at the rally, hehehehe. Send in those reports from UT and TAMU (and everywhere else) BOF'ers...

I'll be on THE ROD RYAN SHOW (94.5 FM "THE BUZZ") here in Houston in the morning to discuss TDK and the Dentmobile's visit to H-Town. It'll be streamed if you want to listen in, FYI.

Director Chris Nolan on the set of THE DARK KNIGHT

I BELIEVE In Harvey Dent!
TDK Trailer 2 NOT Pushed Back?

Posted by: Jett
Friday, March 7, 2008

5:52 PM TEXAS TIME: I told y'all to keep your eye out on IBELIEVEINHARVEYDENT.COM, right? Well, head over there and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR HARVEY! (I LOVE the fake political campaign stuff! Hmmm. Didn't SOMEONE SUGGEST such as thing?)

UPDATE: I just got a call from Harvey Dent himself, FYI.

Do YOU Believe in Harvey Dent?

2:09 PM TEXAS TIME: Check out a really good article about TDK over at SMH.COM.AU. (Thanks to "Chris M." for the link.)

6:21 AM TEXAS TIME: So, can we scratch yesterday's update about the new TDK trailer being delayed? Since yesterday, I've received MANY reports from BOF'ers who work at movie theaters across the U.S. telling me that the TDK trailer #2 did ship with 10,000 BC. Here are a couple of said reports:

* "I can confirm a new TDK trailer was mixed and sent out to movie theaters -- but whether they actually play it before 10,000 BC (because they're told which trailers to play with what movie, as you probably know) remains to be seen."

* "I work at a major theater in the Louisville, KY...10,000 BC had the new THE DARK KNIGHT trailer attached!"

* I work at a local movie theater -- it is one of the biggest in my area -- and we received a memo last night saying that there was in fact a TDK preview with 10,000 BC. The trailer was received in digital format labled as 'The Dark Knight Trailer 2.' Now I'm not saying that this is in fact the new one but it def seems it could be. I will for sure keep you posted as to whether or not I find out anything tonight. Keep up the good work."

Since 10,000 BC hits theaters today, we'll find out for sure pretty darn soon. I'd also be keeping an eye on IBELIEVINHARVEYDENT.COM as well.

UPDATE: Several BOF'ers who work at theaters emailed in to tell the rest of us that said trailer is the same, Joker-heavy one from this past December, FYI....

THIS could be considered a SPOILER, so FYI. But if Chris Nolan is doing this (and I've heard whispers of this since last summer) with Harvey Dent/Two Face in TDK, it's flat-out brilliant.

TDK Trailer 2 Pushed Back?
Posted by: Jett
Thursday, March 6, 2008

10:04 AM TEXAS TIME: It's being reported by several outlets -- in particular DARKHORIZONS.COM -- that the 2nd full trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT has been pushed back. Over the last several weeks, it's been whispered that the trailer would be attached to 10,000 BC (read BOF's review HERE), but that now seems not to be happening. BOF has heard that the recent viral marekting over at IBELIEVEINHARVEYDENT.COM is setting the stage for the trailer's release.

FYI: Yesterday's review of ALL-STAR BATMAN & ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER was unreadable due to a faulty link. It's now been corrected.

Jack On Heath
Cooper On Turning Down Gordon

Posted by: Jett
Wednesday, March 5, 2008

2:08 PM TEXAS TIME: Jack Nicholson says that he would have "...tried to have a fun talk with him [Heath Ledger] about The Joker." Mr. Nicholson -- who also played The Joker in the now-classic BATMAN -- added that Hollywood "...is very sad on his behalf." Check out MTV MOVIE BLOG for the full interview...

Also from the folks over at MTV, actor Chris Cooper confirms that he turned down the role of Jim Gordon in BATMAN BEGINS. "I was approached about that and chose not to do it," he admitted.

I think Cooper is a hell of an actor (loved ADAPTATION), but I can not imagine anyone other that Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon now. Thanks to "Chris M." for sending in the links to both stories...

The whispers are getting louder: Be on the lookout for the second full trailer for TDK.

New Virals - Starring Harvey Dent
Conroy Voicing The Bat in B:GK

Posted by: Jett
Friday, February 29, 2008

10:01 PM TEXAS TIME: The fine folks over at WORLDSFINESTONLINE.COM are reporting that Batman voice legend Kevin Conroy is voicing Batman in the upcoming BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT. The specifics -- like is he the only "Batman" in the feature -- are not known as of yet. As much as I love B:TAS and Mr. Conroy's work on it, I've got mixed feelings on this revelation. I'd prefer Bale -- or someone doing "Bale Batman" -- to be perfectly honest, since B:GK is allegedly tied to the "Nolanverse" of Batman...

It's been whispered to me that this new Dent viral stuff that has just commenced is tied to the release of the second full TDK trailer. Like it took Sherlock Holmes to figure that out ;) -- right?

12:56 PM TEXAS TIME: AICN has a few of the designs for that TDK Rollercoaster that Six Flags is constructing.

6:00 AM TEXAS TIME: If you head over to IBELIEVEINHARVEYDENT.COM, you'll notice that that page has been updated. As expected, the virals are starting up again focusing on Harvey Dent.

You can now download the interview I did with Richard Mooney of THE HAMILTON ADVERTISER. Go HERE TO DOWNLOAD -- it's divided into two parts, FYI.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

3:00 PM TEXAS TIME: Aaron Eckhart, who plays Harvey Dent in THE DARK KNIGHT, had the following to say about his Batman colleague Heath Ledger:

"I am glad that I was able to be in the same room and watch him work. I had the chance to watch him shine in this movie. He did work that just blew me away."

2:40 PM SAN FRANCISCO TIME: Not much Batman on film, but a little. Got the chance to interview DC's Dan DiDio and ask him about all things Bat. CLICK HERE to give it a read. I'll be posting more from Wondercon HERE later.

7:43 AM SAN FRANCISCO TIME: According to a report over at WORLDSFINESTONLINE.COM, Christian Bale will not be voicing The Batman in the upcoming BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT. The rumor making the rounds -- and I heard it myself -- was that CB was providing the voice of his live-action character's animated counterpart. I guess this was just that -- rumor. DC/WB Animation is expected to make an official announcement soon providing the details of animated direct-to-video movie.

Batman's New Ride
Joker Action Figure

Posted by: Jett
Saturday, February 16, 2008

10:34 AM TEXAS TIME: MTV's MOVIE BLOG has video from Toy Fair that shows another one of The Batman's new rides in TDK...

THE NEW YORK POST has an early look at a TDK Joker action figure. Evidently, the late Heath Ledger's family supports any marketing for the film involving Heath's Joker. "Heath was very proud of his work in the film, and his family is aware and supportive of Warner Bros. and its partner's plans for the movie," said a family spokesperson.

Joker action figure from THE DARK KNIGHT

I've got to get me one of those...

BOF'er "Jason M." sent BOF a link to a video interview with actor Eric Roberts in which he pays tribute to Heath Ledger. CLICK HERE TO VIEW.
