1:48 PM TEXAS TIME: First and foremost, here's to all of y'all having a wonderful 2008!

I'm sure it will be a good year for Bat-Fans (except for those "Heath-Joker Haters" -- I kid, I kid...sort of), as we're less than 7 months away from THE DARK KNIGHT.

Now, as long as DC doesn't kill off Bruce Wayne (Grrrrr!), the Bat-future is looking bright! And...

I really think that bastards such as this MSN MOVIES outfit are ripping me off! They know that THE DARK KNIGHT is BOF's #1 most anticipated film of 2008 -- Haven't I been saying that for like, two years now?! And now, well...

...maybe they know how smart we are here? ;) Happy New Year Y'ALL!

Nolan Talks TDK
Posted by: Jett
Friday, December 28, 2007

2:12 PM MINNESOTA TIME: FYI: I'm working on a 2007 "Bat-Year In Review" article that's taking a bit of time. Hey, A LOT of stuff went down last year! But it's probably the best rundown of TDK's 2007 production you'll find, if I do say so myself.

10:59 AM MINNESOTA TIME: WIZARD has an excellent online interview with Chris Nolan...

They also have A COOL INTERVIEW with our 'ol friend Lee Bermejo -- which he states that he did not copy the look of the TDK Joker (Heath Ledger) for his upcoming graphic novel about the character. Lee also mentions the drawing he did for BOF of The Joker back in '07:

"The Joker" by Lee Bermejo for BOF (2005)

"A Batman website?" No love for BOF Lee? ;) Anyway, check out BOF's interviews with Lee if you haven't already, which features that drawing he did for that "Batman website": PART 1 & PART 2. Word has it that Nolan and company might have been influenced a tad by Lee's Joker.

12:23 PM MINNESOTA TIME: Hey ya'll, Jett here from the good (and cold -- at least for this Texan) state of Minnesota! Got a some things coming up like a couple of articles from BOF contributor Cary Ashby, comic book reviews from me and other authors, and a few other goodies. Anyway...

Nothing like a good '0l OP-ED to get people up off the couch and fired up (one way or the other) after the holiday yesterday! CLICK HERE to check 'er out.

Happy Holidays From BOF!

Saturday, December 22, 2007

1:32 PM TEXAS TIME: Not much today, but I did want to wish all you BOF'ers a Happy Holiday season and a big THANK YOU for your support over these (soon to be) 10 years. A few TDK-related links for y'all today...

EMPIRE ONLINE has ranked the TDK TRAILER and one of the TDK ONE SHEETS #1 on each respective list. Ironically, so did BOF...

MTV.COM says that Guillermo Del Toro, Jeph Leob, and Paul Dini have given a big thumbs up to the TDK's version of The Joker as played by Heath Ledger. What a coincidence, I do too...

My SCATTERSHOTS blog has been updated, as have August 2006's "FOUR 2007 MUST-DO'S" and July 2007's "WHO'S THAT JOKER" articles.

12:00 PM TEXAS TIME: OK, I've seen both the "Prologue" and the new trailer on the big screen. So, HERE is my review of the 1st trailer. Really, there's nothing more I can say about the "PROLOGUE" that you haven't already heard -- it's kicks ass!

Y'all know I'm a proud "Nolan Homer" right? A card carrying member of the "Trust Nolan" association I am. Regardless, from TDK-look of things, they've surpassed my very lofty expectations. As a Batman fan, I'm pretty proud right now...

International One Sheet 2 - The Joker!
Posted by: Jett
Friday, December 14, 2007

6:15 PM TEXAS TIME: BOF contributor Cary Ashby has chimed in on the new TDK trailer. Check out his review (Yes, we do review trailers here!) HERE.

12:44 PM TEXAS TIME: There's a new viral site up and running -- ATASTEFORTHETHEATRICAL.COM -- which I figure is for the online release of the trailer. Thanks to "Anjow" for the heads up.

6:50 AM TEXAS TIME: Another international one sheet has popped up online, this time featuring The Joker:

Nice! There's also one out there in the U.S. that has The Joker behind frosted glass and he has scribbled "Why So Serious?" on the glass in blood:

Hopefully a HQ legit version will pop up online soon...

Speaking of things "popping up online," the first trailer for TDK has leaked online -- filmed by someone with a camera phone. Despite the bad quality, it's really, REALLY BADASS. Heath Ledger is going to blow people away this coming summer.

International One Sheet!
The Synopsis for TDK

Thursday, December 13, 2007

6:50 PM TEXAS TIME: OMELETE.COM has revealed the 1st international one sheet for THE DARK KNIGHT:

Click on the image which will eventually take you to a big-ass, hi-res version!

F'n badass isn't it!? Movie. Of. The. Year.

6:15 PM TEXAS TIME: OMELETE.COM says that they are releasing the international TDK one sheet, FYI. And thanks to the BOF'ers who can read Portuguese for letting me know...

More thanks to several BOF'ers for sending in THIS LINK to an Italian site's interview with Eric Roberts. Roberts of course plays Sal Maroni in THE DARK KNIGHT. One quote that caught my eye -- and I'm sure will have Bat-fanboys trippin' out -- is Roberts saying "...Christopher Nolan chose not to stay entirely true to the comic book version of Maroni."

OK, before y'all flip you lid, Roberts is also on the record saying that his Maroni stays pretty loyal to the Bat-mythos -- you know what I'm sayin'?

1:33 PM TEXAS TIME: Warner Bros. has released a new synopsis for TDK and you can check it out HERE...

Thanks to all of you who answered BOF's "Help Needed Ad." I couldn't respond to everyone, but I did read all emails sent in. As I was only looking for one person, I can't "hire" you all -- but I will keep your name and contact info on file. Thanks again! And...

With I AM LEGEND (click to read the BOF review) hitting theaters tomorrow, we'll most likely get our initial look at the first full trailer for TDK. And of course, the "TDK PROLOGUE" will be showing in front of the IMAX screenings of the film.

6:14 AM TEXAS TIME: Warner Bros. was kind enough to invite us (Hell, The Joker even sent us a cake!) and BOF contributor "The Jacksaur from LA" attended the LA screening of "TDK Prologue." HERE IS HIS REPORT...

Speaking of reports, I literally received thousands since yesterday! I want to thank everyone who sent one in and let you know that I did read through all of them -- although I can't respond to each and every one. With that said, KEEP 'EM COMING IN! Anyway...

WIZARD has a nice little interview with The Batman himself, Christian Bale...

LATINO REVIEW has a hi-res pic of Heath Ledger as The Joker. FYI: It's the same image that was on the recent WIZARD MAGAZINE cover sans the graphics, etc.

7:26 PM TEXAS TIME: BOF'ers across the country are starting to send in their reports/reviews of the "TDK Prologue." The most common response...

"Ledger.Kicks.ASS!"

Many are posting their reviews over at the BOF MESSAGE BOARD, in case you are interested.

Confirmation On Bale's New Gig
Hauer's "Mr. Earl" Not In TDK

Author: Jett
Sunday, December 3, 2007

7:22 PM TEXAS TIME: More viral stuff this afternoon. Check it out HERE. Something going down tomorrow, or so it seems.

12:38 PM TEXAS TIME: The VIRAL MARKETING RECAP PAGE has been updated.

9:10 AM TEXAS TIME: A couple of quick hits...

Rutger Hauer -- who played "Mr. Earle" in BATMAN BEGINS -- told MOVIEHOLE.NET that he is not in the sequel:

Are you in the next Batman movie?

I don’t think… I hope to speak to [Chris Nolan] in the next couple of days, but I don’t think so. I’ll ask him.

Your character was still alive at the end of the film, so you never know! And Earle is a good example of someone that’s not necessarily bad, but not necessarily good either…

Nobody was that great. We’re all a bit tattered and rough around the edges [in the movie]. I thought [Christian] Bale was pretty nasty in it at times. But they love him. He’s the new version of the hero I guess.

I'm not sure when this interview took place -- perhaps before filming ended on TDK. I figure he'd know by now if he wasn't in it since filming wrapped about a month ago. UPDATED: Clint shot me an email to let me know that the interview with Hauer was done yesterday -- so it's very recent. Anyway, for the full interview, click on the link provided.

Not Batman-related, but sort of. VARIETY in confirming that Christian Bale will play John Conner in the next installment of the TERMINATOR series (There are some whispers that this could have an affect on a 3rd Bat-outing for CB -- more on that later).

The Joker: Cover Boy & A LOT More!
Author: Jett
Friday, November 30, 2007

4:52 PM TEXAS TIME: Thanks to the MANY BOF'ers (Yes, I mean YOU), more TDK viral sites have been discovered. Like...

GPIAD.COM ("Gotham PD "Internal Affairs"), SAINTSWITHUNCHURCH.ORG ("...type in 'Salvatore Maroni' in the records search, it gives a link: 'marriage certificates.' Click on it and you get a scan of Sal Maroni's witness signature on a marriage certificate." - via "Bob Cat in Hawaii"), and BETTYSHOUSEOFPIES.COM -- "House of Pies? Y'all, there was A PLACE I ONCE KNEW OF with the same name that served the best breakfast...after 2AM. HEHEHEHE.

2:42 PM TEXAS TIME: Several BOF'ers have informed us t hat they are now getting phone calls from "bad cops" telling 'em to keep their pieholes shut. The people being called are to "...seek out LC6551."

Geez, this viral marketing is badass? If I hear/get an email from one person telling me that the "marketing sucks," I'll have an episode.

10:29 AM TEXAS TIME: TODAY and Al Roker visited the set of THE DARK KNIGHT (I'm pretty sure in Chicago -- looks familiar) and you can check out the video HERE. Or click on the TODAY SHOW link provided. One last thing TODAY, that pic of "The Joker" is a fan-made manip of the actor Conrad Veidt from THE MAN WHO LAUGHS -- not Heath Ledger as The Joker.

"Miranda Fox" informed BOF that there are reports of "THE GOTHAM TIMES" being handed out at airports. None found at IAH -- I was there yesterday and today. If you got one in such manner, let me know. :) UPDATE: Ms. Fox said that she intended to say that they were handing 'em out at theaters/cinemas. But you know what, putting them in airports is a hell of an idea. Can one patent ideas? :)

8:57 AM TEXAS TIME: Remember I told you all back on November 16th that this Armie Hammer character had been cast as Batman in JUSTICE LEAGUE? I also said then that I hoped I was wrong, right? Well, according to my friends over at IESB.NET, I'M NOT.

8:22 AM TEXAS TIME: Sir Michael is TALKING AGAIN! Says Ledger is "stunning" as The Joker.

7:52 AM TEXAS TIME: Batman won't be playing second fiddle to no one! SO SAYS CHRISTIAN BALE.

6:00 AM TEXAS TIME: "The Joker" is the newest WIZARD COVER BOY (click the thumbnail to enlarge):

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

6:43 PM TEXAS TIME: So, what's inside that "Why So Serious" safe? THIS -- although I have no idea what the hell it means! And...

All those phone numbers you find on the viral pages, CALL THEM. At minimum, they are cool as hell.

6:07 AM TEXAS TIME: Overnight, EMPIREONLINE.COM revealed their exclusive pic of The Joker along with a short interview with Heath Ledger conducted on their TDK set visit. Click on the image below for more of the story!
