Affleck Reveals His Bat-Flick's Title? Maybe Not (UPDATED) Posted by: Bill "Jett" Ramey (Follow @BATMANONFILM)

In a video interview which you can watch below (per an E! interview via @DCComicsUnited), Ben Affleck kinda-sorta says that his Batman film just might not end up being called “The Batman.” (CLICK HERE for the original story.)
Unless it is.
Affleck’s comments are interesting. For one thing, he suggests that “The Batman” is only a working title for the film project. Additionally, he says that there isn’t a Batman film right now to have a title as it’s still in the scripting stage and they’re working on things like the budget. Check it out…
“It’s been around a long time…but there is no Batman movie happening yet. We’re still trying to figure it out – the script, the budget and all that stuff. Someone said, ‘What are you calling it?’ And I said – and we were promoting another movie – ‘We don’t have a name for it, we’re just calling it ‘The Batman’ or ‘our Batman movie.’ And it was like, ‘AFFLECK ANNOUNCES THE TITLE OF HIS NEW [BATMAN FILM]!’”
There’s a little, cynical part of me that thinks there’s a chance that this film doesn’t come to fruition if both WONDER WOMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE falters. However, I’m pretty damn certain that is going to make THE BATMAN – or whatever it ends up being called – come hell or high water. Furthermore, why would Affleck Tweet-out the video footage of Deathstroke (and also have Geoff Johns confirm that the character was the villain in the solo Bat-Film) if he didn’t intend to go through with it?
But you never know I guess. I’ve seen a lot of Batman films “announced” and get a script, but never end up happening over my 18+ years here at BOF. The only way I see it NOT happening and causing Ben Affleck to give pause is if JUSTICE LEAGUE is a total cluster-f**k.
So what do you think of the title of the film and Deathstroke as the villain? Post your thoughts in the comments section below!
