BATMAN: UNSEEN #5 Author: Justin Gonzalez December 4, 2009 OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: The evil of the Invisible Man ends here! In order to stop the unseen Dr. Glass from killing Bruce Wayne, Batman must use the invisibility serum on himself and battle the Invisible Man on his own terms. But will The Dark Knight succumb to the same madness as the Invisible Man? Seeing is believing, but you won't believe your eyes! This is what a Batman comic should be. BATMAN: UNSEEN #5 is so good, it almost makes issues 1 - 4 readable. Ha! I almost said that with a straight face. As you could tell by my sarcastic tone, this issue was no better than the others. Thank goodness this is the last issue, because I don't think my brain would survive anymore. In this issue we have Batman making one last desperate attempt to take down Dr. Glass (I guess Sam Jackson from UNBREAKABLE got his PhD). He does it by becoming his enemy -- an invisible predator. That's right folks, Batman drinks the "see through serum.” Whatever. The subplot of Batman losing his intimidation factor resurfaces after being AWOL for the last two issues -- and I couldn’t care less. The topping of the cake is the climax. A nude and invisible Dr. Glass, fighting a nude and invisible Batman. How do you think that looked on paper? Yep, absolutely ridiculous. When I heard Doug Moench and Kelley Jones were coming back to Batman, I must admit I was happy. Now I'm dead inside. Thanks Mr. Moench, thanks a lot.
