PREVIOUS: 1941

FEBRUARY: The Batsignal lights up the skies of Gotham, calling The Batman, for the first time in DETECTIVE COMICS #60.

AUGUST: Being of two minds on the subject, Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Kent (later changed to “Dent” so people wouldn’t think he was kin to a certain mild-mannered Metropolis newspaper man) as well has his criminal persona, Two Face, debut in DETECTIVE COMICS #66.

FALL: It is revealed that a large cave exists underneath stately Wayne Manor and it’s described as being Batman’s “secret underground hangar” in BATMAN #12.
