More Batpod & An "Extra" Report

Monday, July 30, 2007

5:19 PM TEXAS TIME: Looks like they are "Clowning Around" (HAHAHAHAHAHA!) with WHYSOSERIOUS.COM...

4:50 PM TEXAS TIME: EMPIRE MAGAZINE has an interview with Christian Bale, and here are a couple of quotes:

* “[Heath Ledger’s Joker is] more anarchic, punk rock, almost junkie version of [The Joker].”

* “Batman is not your bloody poster-boy for a healthy mind. He IS The Dark Knight after all.”

Thanks to "Anjow" for the heads up.

3:34 PM TEXAS TIME: "FreQ1337" sent in a VERY SHORT VIDEO of "Batman" on The Batpod down on Lower Wacker Dr. in Chicago.

8:47 AM TEXAS TIME: "The Anonymous Extra" sent in a nice little report on his day on TDK set as an extra. You can read it HERE.

4:18 PM TEXAS TIME: OK, I'm back in Texas (Stand. Salute!), but I LOVE San Diego! Anyway, CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO of The Joker's Jets doing their flyby in San Diego last Friday. Video thanks to the hot "Mrs. Jett"...

"The Librarian" sent in a 7/29/07 SHOOT REPORT which is rather cool...

I wanted to give a shout-out to BOF'er "Brian" who talked to me outside of the Hilton while I was working on the whole "Why So Serious" deal. All he wanted to do was shake my hand -- You made my day my friend...

More is coming soon that I'm working on, so stay tuned!

"Why So Serious" Synopsis

Saturday, July 28, 2007

6:30 AM PACIFIC TIME: BOF'er "Derek M." put together a A NICE DETAILED SYNOPSIS of yesterday's "Why So Serious" viral marketing campaign in San Diego...

A few more additions to the "Why So Serious" website: WANNABES, SURVEILLANCE (I'm in there somewhere!), and a POLICE REPORT...

"Shane" sent BOF THE TEASER ON YOUTUBE.COM for a little easier access.

4:11 PM PACIFIC TIME: The TDK trailer has been released online and you can find it HERE. Just as the BOF scoopers political ads to be found. And a BIG thanks to all of y'all BOF'ers that have been emailing today! What a way to have a presence...but NOT have a presence! Screw IRON MAN!

12:24 PM PACIFIC TIME: BOF'ers, I can't keep up with today's Joker campaign in San Diego. BUT, if you are one of those scouring the city, send it a detailed report once finished and BOF will share it with the other readers…

A new pic of The Joker and Rachel can be found HERE.

10:13 AM PACIFIC TIME: OK, jets flew overhead at 10 AM and spelled out this number: 800-395-9646...then "Ha Ha Ha." You get a recording from someone who is being "held" by The Joker, I guess. Obviously, more to come.

The Joker's Phone Number? (Click to enlarge)

8:21 AM PACIFIC TIME: "Tuckman" sent in THIS REPORT WITH A PIC of "Joker Money" from the Con...

I'm going to that "Joker Event" -- or whatever it is -- and I'll be talking pics and getting some video as well. I'll post the video if I get anything good...

Listen, if some of you were upset that I used said "There will be no TDK presence at SDCC," then I offer my apologies. Of course, I knew nothing about this cool viral campaign either. Hey, I'm just the messenger here! ;)

6:07 AM PACIFIC TIME: OK, busy as hell out here in San Diego, but it looks as if something cool is going to go down accross the street from the convention center where the Con is being held (Thanks to ALL of the BOF'ers that sent in the info!). Check out this map (click to enlarge):

The coordinates given at the site are of a location right across the street from the Con as you can see on the map. According to the countdown clock, whatever is going to happen will go down around 10 AM Pacific. FYI and spread the word! I'll be there as well...

Let me clarify what's is and isn't going on TDK-related at the Con. The teaser is not going to be shown as rumored and there will not be a panel or TDK presentation. That is what I meant by "no presence." TDK will be doing that in 2 weeks in Chicago.

Thursday, July 26, 2007

6:17 PM PACIFIC TIME: Here’s the deal. As BOF told you a few weeks ago, there will be NO, NADA, NIET TDK presence at SDCC -- meaning no panel or the showing of the teaser. BUT, they WILL be at WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO -- like I said (thank GOD! I'd already booked travel!).

Take all this to the bank, as I was provided exclusive info from “someone close to the production.” So all of y’all going to Chi-Town for WW just for TDK, IT’S ON -- I PROMISE...

THEY ARE AT IT AGAIN! Or so it seems...

6:31 AM TEXAS TIME: Now this info irks the hell out of me! Especially since I've already booked travel to Chi-Town. Anyway, "MM" has some info about TDK at Wizard World Chicago -- or rather, not at WWC:

"I have some info about Wizard World Chicago that I wanted to pass along to you.

There have been some 'issues' between Wizard, Warner Bros., and DC Comics -- with the the latter two NOT being the problem. To make a long story short, the BS politics going on has led to Warners/TDK pulling out of the convention. In other words, there is no longer to be a TDK panel at WWC.

In the past two weeks Wizard has been busy with some last ditch efforts to get Warner Bros. to reconsider, but honestly it doesn't look good. I really just wanted to send this email so maybe you can inform your readers not to go to Wizard World Chicago if the only thing they are interested in is TDK, because as of now it ain't happening. As a fan myself, I know I would be pissed."

Well, that sucks if true. Let me say this to Warner Bros. and DC: I don't know what the deal is, but TDK NEEDS to be there in Chicago for the FANS. TDK is pretty much skipping Comic Con in San Diego, which was upsetting. But, many were willing to forgive because they believed that a big panel would be held two weeks later at WWC. Whatever the deal is -- if there is one -- y'all need to kiss and make up and have TDK in Chicago. With that said, let's chill on this for the time being. I'm going to get an answer for y'all while in San Diego and I'll have it here ASAP...

It is looking like the description of a teaser for TDK what was reported here yesterday (7/25) is indeed accurate. I received serveral more descriptions backing up the "exloding logo" teaser overnight -- thanks to all of you! It seems that the "Dent campaign ad" teaser was BS....

Alright, I'm off to San Diego! I'll talk to you soon from Cali!

Teaser Rumors
Author: Jett
Wednesday, July 25, 2007

5:40 PM TEXAS TIME: EMPIRE's September cover features a shot of TDK's Batman:

Screw Iron Man! ;)

4:32 PM TEXAS TIME: "James from Austin in the GREAT state of TEXAS" (Jett stands up, salutes, and sings "Texas, our Texas, all hail the mighty state....") just sent an email, backing up the earlier report:

"I work at a movie theater in Austin. Last night, our projectionist geared up the previews of 'The Simpsons Movie' just to show some of us the 'TDK' teaser. The new description you posted is DEAD ON ACCURATE. Ledger/Jokers’ line at the end of it was: 'Before this night is over, people will die. I’m a man of my word!' Pretty menacing!"

3:32 PM CENTRAL: This should be taken as strictly rumor right now, but I’ve got several reports in emails this afternoon about the teaser for TDK. These folks say that they’ve seen it, and here's their basic description:

(Highlight to read) It’s basically the movie Bat-logo, slowing being blown apart by beams of light/lasers (?). There is some sort of conversation between Bruce (Christian Bale) and Alfred (Michael Caine), and then the Joker card showing up as the logo is destroyed. Some of the emails have indicated The Joker (Heath Ledger) says something at the end as well.

If you can validate this -- or have more details to offer -- send it to BOF! Thanks to ALL of you who sent in emails!

8:32 AM CENTRAL: Here are the latest rumors regarding the first TDK teaser and what I know:

1) There's talk of it showing up online today (7/25) -- I've heard nothing about this.

2) It'll be shown during the WB presentation Friday -- That's a GOOD bet!

3) It'll be shown during the SUPERMAN/DOOMSDAY screening Thursday -- I have no idea.

My bet is on #2 taking place and there may even be someone from the cast to present it -- multiple sources say it could happen. There will not be a TDK presentation or panel however -- that'll be in Chicago 2 weeks later at the Wizard World convention, "allegedly"...

Monday, July 23, 2007

10:53 AM CENTRAL: "A.P." is back with a short TDK CHICAGO SHOOT UPDATE.

8:23 AM CENTRAL: THIS IS DERBYSHIRE has another interview with Maggie Gyllenhaal in which she talked briefly about TDK:

"OK, it's funny [why this indie-minded actress agreed to star in a summer blockbuster], but I think Chris Nolan, who's directing it, did a really good job with the last Batman movie [BATMAN BEGINS]."

"It took me all day to read the script because it's really long and I have a new baby. After I'd finished I called Chris and said: 'Why do you want me?' You know, some people just want a girl who'll stand where they tell you to and wear what they want. Instead I come from a very specific point of view. I'm going to have all these thoughts about the character. But he was really receptive and interested -- I thought this is going to be so cool. I'm kinda thinking I'll be a bit spicy, like Carrie Fisher in 'Star Wars.'"

Good stuff! Thanks to "Chris M." for sending BOF the link...

The BOF'er who sent me THESE COOL PICS is "Gnoc1br." Thanks my friend...

Comic Con in San Diego starts later this week, and BOF WILL BE THERE starting Thursday, July 26th. If anything TDK-related happtens, I'll let you know ASAP. Also, here's hoping that the TDK folks have scrambled and put SOMETHING together for Comic Con -- the teaser, a member of the cast and/or crew showing up. No one would be happier...

BOF will be at WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO two weeks later (August 10-12) to cover the "rumored" TDK panel...and have fun in Chi-Town again! Love that city! ("Very Nice Person," can I get an exclusive? :) Hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?)...

One last thing today: I've got to say THANKS! to all of you who read BOF. Your patronage is VERY MUCH appreciated!

6:36 AM CENTRAL: "G.C." sent in a couple of pics from the TDK Chicago set which you can view by CLICKING HERE...

OK, now this is COOL! My friends over at SUPERHERO HYPE! have a description of the TDK teaser -- which is rumored to be attached to various showings of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE. If you don't want to know anything, don't click on the link provided, FYI. It's also rumored that Warner Bros. will premiere the teaser at Comic Con during their presentation this coming Friday (July 27th). One last thing, props to all the Batman fans who have been suggesting this sort of teaser for months.

And HOW many of you were worried that he WOULDN'T wear PURPLE? (Or, were freaking out thinking he DIDN'T wear PURPLE?) ;)

Saturday, July 21, 2007

3:55 PM CENTRAL: A day or two ago, a BOF'er sent TWO PICS OF HEATH LEDGER AS THE JOKER in "The Joker Truck." I'm running these two as they don't reveal very much -- except for the fact that he DOES wear purple. (And yes, I know that there are other pics of HL in his full Joker get-up, but we're not running those spy pics.)

At any rate, I've lost the email from the individual that sent them, so please let me know who you are so I can credit you...

A reminder, Comic Con in San Diego is next weekend, and BOF WILL BE THERE starting Thursday, July 26th (And I got a couple of 4 really cool parties to attend!!!).

TDK 7/19-20/07 Shoot Report
Author: Jett
Friday, July 20, 2007

10:46 AM CENTRAL: Maggie Gyllenhaal has commented again about playing "Rachel Dawes" in TDK:

"Chris asked me to do this because he wanted me, not because he wants some generic lady in a dress. I'm not thinking of it as a role that anyone's played before. I'm not walking into Katie Holmes' performance. I'm thinking of it as an opportunity to play somebody who's alive and smart."

"I'm really excited about it. I mean, it's not some silly action movie: Chris Nolan is directing, Christian Bale's starring. I'm really excited and curious about doing a couple of stunts in [THE DARK KNIGHT]."

Thanks to "Miranda Fox" for sending the link! SOURCE: MALAYSIASUN.COM.

6:33 AM CENTRAL: BOF'er "J.K." is back with a A NEW TDK SHOOT REPORT.

Not to be outdone, "Nik" provided BOF with TWO VIDEOS OF 7/19-20/07's SHOOT. Both of today's reports are spoiler-free, FYI...

IESB.NET talked to Aaron Eckhart and here's a bit of what he had to say:

"It's fun!![playing Harvey Dent and being in TDK]....Batman has got so much energy around it. The most unlikely people in the street know everything there is to know about Harvey Dent or The Joker. It reduces adults to children, people always have a story. I haven't really been hit by it yet, I think it will really hit when I am doing press for that next year I think that is when it's going to hit me. Right now I'm just having a good time doing it. You've got Batman in the Bat suit (laughs)...."

"[Heath Ledger is] fantastic. Heath is fantastic, Christian is amazing -- I worked with him as Batman in the Bat suit with ears and (laughs) it's really transforming to see Christian as Bruce Wayne then to see him as Batman....and Chris Nolan is a fantastic director…Wait till you see Heath. He is amazing as The Joker. He is going to steal the whole movie."

All I've heard from everyone -- on and off the record -- is how badass both Heath and Christian are in this film. Aaron's right, I for one certainly can't wait!

TDK Video, Shoot Update

1:03 PM CENTRAL: Looks as if TDK filming starts back up on July 18th. On the 19th and 20th, there will be stuff involving The Joker, his goons, GPD SWAT, GPD, and others. The Batmobile looks to be involved as well. FYI for you Bat-sightseers! Thanks to “A.P.” for the info.

7:12 AM CENTRAL: Several BOF'ers sent in THIS LINK TO MYFOXCHICAGO.COM which includes 3 video clips of TDK filming on Lower Wacker Dr. the other night...

7/15 TDK Shoot Report

Monday, July 16, 2007

8:58 PM CENTRAL: MOVIESBLOG.MTV.COM has a video interview with Aaron Eckhart -- he talks a lot about TDK, go figure.

6:32 AM CENTRAL: What's on today's agenda? You guessed it, YET ANOTHER TDK SHOOT REPORT FROM CHICAGO.

7/14 TDK Shoot Report
Author: Jett
Sunday, July 15, 2007

4:42 PM CENTRAL: My friends "Bat-Ror" & "Bat-Contini" are back with a TDK shoot. Both of these BOF'ers respect the cast and crew like BOF, so their reports reflect that. With that said, those avoiding all spoilers stay away (though it's not really "spoilerish")...

BOF'ers: I'm looking for a pic of the great Cesar Romero as The Joker from the episode "The Joker Is Wild." He wears a clown mask during the scene from "Pagliacci" and BOF'er "Glenn G." says "...looks remarkably similiar to the one Heath Ledger was wearing in the bank job photos." A homage to the wonderful 60s TV show? Hope to hear from ya'll.

UPDATE: CHECK THIS OUT! And thanks to ALL of you that sent in pics! (Too many to list, but props from me to all of you! Damn! Do that many of y'all read this site?)

9:32 AM CENTRAL: Earlier, BOF said that Aaron Eckhart is talking, and DARK HORIZONS has even more. Here's a bit:

"I like playing this guy [Harvey Dent]. This guy has likeable attributes, characteristics. And it really, as in this whole Batman going through it, it's really a mirror of our times in a lot of ways. It's a comment on what's going on in the world today. And my character fits into that really nicely. And everybody's character does from Lieutenant Gordon to the Joker. I guess Batman is just trying to make sense of what's going on and trying to fight a fight that maybe he doesn't totally understand."

"I will, I will. I can't imagine. But you know what, I'm there with veterans, you know. I mean Christian's been through it and Chris and I think Heath is going to take the brunt of it. Let me tell you. Heath is going to be spectacular in this movie...Heath is going to be amazing."

"More so than ever [working] with Chris is that it feels like he's just making a movie with the family, because everybody stays on set. It's very mellow, he works with the same people all the time. So it's very familiar."

There's more (some of which is VERY spoilerish) over at DH. Thanks to "December Darkly" for the heads up.

6:38 AM CENTRAL: Chicago BOF'er "JK" sent in THIS REPORT OF THE 7/14 SHOOT...

Aaron Eckhart is talking. The folks at (WATCH THE NAME OF THE URL!) MTV.COM sent BOF their article from the NO RESERVATIONS press junket. FYI: This artlce is VERY spoilerish!

TDK Teaser in 2 weeks?
Author: Jett
Saturday, July 14, 2007

11:50 AM CENTRAL: "A.P." is back with A REPORT FROM CHICAGO.

7:15 AM CENTRAL: "Bat-Ror" returns with A CHICAGO SHOOT REPORT FROM JULY 13th (FYI: I've black-out some of the report for those avoiding the slightest of "spoilers").

6:00 AM CENTRAL: SUPERHEROHYPE.COM is reporting that a teaser trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT will be attached to some screenings of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE hitting theaters on July 27th.

SHH speculates/was told that Warner Bros. may show the teaser during their presentation Friday, July 27th (10:30 AM - 12 Noon) at Comic Con International San Diego. WB’s schedule includes only the films THE INVASION, GET SMART, ONE MISSED CALL, WHITEOUT, and WATCHMEN.

BOF was informed two weeks ago by a very high-ranking member of TDK‘s production team that “We’re not going to San Diego…we’ll be at Wizard World [in Chicago]. Chris hasn‘t cut any [film] footage yet.” In other words, no member of the cast and/or crew was going to be sent to San Diego, but there would be a TDK panel at Chicago’s Wizard World convention a few weeks later (This was "on the record" as they wanted to get the word out to fans).

Hopefully, a teaser trailer has been completed and will be shown in San Diego at WB’s Comic Con presentation. BOF will be there covering that evemt -- here's hoping that the teaser is played then!

7/12 Shoot Report
Author: Jett
Friday, July 13, 2007

12:54 PM CENTRAL: "Dave W." sent BOF know that LATINOREVIEW.COM talked to Aaron Eckhart who said:

"...I can't talk about [THE DARK KNIGHT]. I love the script and I wanted to do the movie."

"I feel one is completely different from the other [comparing his Dent to the on in BATMAN FOREVER]. I don't have to do what Tommy Lee Jones did."

Thanks to KC from LR for the heads up as well. Click on the LR link for the entire story...

"Nickcentre12" sent a link to THIS CHICAGO TV REPORT of TDK filming in Chi-Town. Here's a bit of the written report:

"Filming continues on the new Batman movie in downtown Chicago. Crews staged a mock fire on Upper Wacker Drive Thursday night. "The 'Dark Knight' will be all over town for the next two months. It is the biggest movie project that Chicago has ever hosted. Filmmakers were thoroughly seduced by Chicago's landscape when they shot 'Batman Begins' in Chicago back in 2004. They couldn't wait to get back for more. The new Batman movie is expected to bring $45 million into the city's economy."

$45 million? Hell, $1,000 of that is coming out of my damn pocket -- willingly I must add. ;)

8:19 AM CENTRAL: "Nickcentre12" sent BOF a link to a NEWSDAY.COM interview with Christian Bale. Here's what CB had to say about what we can expect from THE DARK KNIGHT:

"It's now the question of the burden and toll of what he's doing, the question can this be a finite endeavor. Is this something that has an end? Can he quit and have an ordinary life? The kind of manic intensity someone has to have to maintain the passion and the anger that they felt as a child, takes an effort after awhile, to keep doing that. At some point, you have to exorcise your demons. That's what I love about Batman. There's so much that is about character."

6:24 AM CENTRAL: "Bat-Ror" returned with a JULY 12TH SHOOT REPORT. Also, "Pepper" chimed in from Chicago with his own JULY 12TH SHOOT REPORT. FYI: Some could consider these reports a tad SPOILERISH (although I don't).

7/11 Shoot Report

Thursday, July 12, 2007

8:56 PM CENTRAL: "Nik and Wife" sent BOF THIS REPORT WITH PICS of last night's shoot in Chicago.

8:24 PM CENTRAL: "K.K." sent us some information about TDK tie-ins/marketing/merchandise. CLICK HERE to give it a look. Includes an image of the official logo with the film's title included.

2:15 PM CENTRAL: Check out THIS VIDEO from last night (7/11) via "typeorocks." No SPOILERS to be found!

12:27 PM CENTRAL: The following has been rumored for a little while now, but I've held off reporting it here on BOF until I heard it from additional individuals. It's not a "Huge Spoiler" per se, but I'm going to black it out out of respect for those wanting to know nada:

...OK, the scuttlebutt is that TDK will close ala BATMAN BEGINS with a "Joker Card" type momment. With that said, TDK will be a stand-alone film, like its 2005 predecessor and there will not be a "cliffhanger" ala THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK or THE MATRIX RELOADED. Also, BOF has been told that nothing is being filmed for a third, Nolan-directed Bat-Film along with TDK...

Yes, I did see this one opening weekend, but I've been a tad busy with another superhero film. Blame Chris Nolan. REVIEW: F4: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER.

11:40 AM CENTRAL: "Bat-Ror" sent in THIS REPORT FROM CHI-TOWN of TDK filming on TDK. Remember that "big chase scene" BOF told you about last week? Well, it seems as if it's taking place.

Call for TDK extras, WW Chicago Info, & CCISD Schedule
Author: Jett
Wednesday, July 11, 2007

2:29 PM CENTRAL: For all of y'all wondering about TDK at WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO, I've been told that it'll probably be on Saturday, August 11th. More later when I hear it.

1:37 PM CENTRAL: BOF contributor Lawrence Burgess has reviewed the new HARRY POTTER flick -- CLICK HERE and give it a read...

My friends at Warner Bros. have alerted me to the fact that the teaser for 10,000 BC is now online at YAHOO! in HQ. You can also see it HERE (This is just a "teaser for "The Teaser")...

Let me plug POPCORNATTHEMOVIES.COM -- a new movie website started by a good "FOBOF." I'll contribute myself (and NO, I'm not being paid!) from time to time. Give it a look-see and tell 'em "Jett" sent 'ya by.

9:38 AM CENTRAL: "Lauren" sent BOF word that there's been another casting call for TDK extras in Chicago. "The casting is on Saturday (I think) from 10:30 am - 3 pm at the Chicago Academy For The Arts (@ 1010 W Chicago Ave.). I believe they want 'victims' and 'perpetrators.'" This ad was found in THE REDEYE according to the emailer...

I had several Chicagoans email BOF these TDK Chicago filming dates, but my friends at SUPERHEROHYPE.COM have a nice rundown of them, so I'll send you their way...

COMIC CON INTERNATIONAL SAN DIEGO has released its schedule and you can check it out by clicking on the previous link provided. BOF will be there and will "Blog" the stuff we see as we see it. AND...

...I will personally attending WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO a couple of weeks later as the THE DARK KNIGHT will make their presentation there. With that said, here's hoping that there is SOME TDK stuff in San Diego at the Warner Bros. exhibition/area on the convention floor. Mini posters with the logo...The Batpod, maybe. :)

3 More Bat-Rogues?
Author: Jett
Tuesday, July 10, 2007

2:58 PM CENTRAL: There are rumors floating around that 3 classic Bat-Rogues -- not counting The Joker (Heath Ledger) -- will appear in TDK. Oh "REE-AH-LEE." Look -- trust me on this one -- Mr. Nolan's got his Bat-Stuff down and none of us are going to be disappointed. Well, maybe some of us, but there's always a spoilsport somewhere.

July 8th Shoot Report
Author: Jett
Monday, July 9, 2007

4:29 PM CENTRAL: "SoxFan" sent BOF THIS PICTURE of a GPD sign...

Maggie Gyllenhaal ("Rachel Dawes") talks TDK in THE GUARDIAN:

"Doing 'Batman' has shocked me at every turn. When I started, I thought, 'Well, it's a huge movie, I'll just do my best to put what I can into it.' But, in fact, they've been really hungry for my ideas, for my views. It's great! They've been asking for more!"

Thanks to "T.S." and "Golfer Dude" for the link.

6:40 AM CENTRAL: "TB" sent BOF the following short report on yesterday's (7/8) filming:

"Looks like they’re shooting some stuff with Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and Rachel today on location -- outside a 'Courthouse' and I think back at outside a theater. Also, Dent meets with reporters -- not sure if that includes Rachel (Maggie Gyllenhaal) as well.

Michael Caine is in town and I believe he is shooting scenes with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the 'Penthouse.'

Coming up later this week, I believe Eric Roberts will be shooting scenes as 'Sal Maroni.'"

Also, "TJ and Sarah" sent me THIS EXTENDED REPORT of the shoot yesterday in Chi-Town.

Back in August of '06, I wrote an op-ed titled "Four 2007 Must Do's for TDK." Since 2007 is halfway done, I've UPDATED THAT ARTICLE.

One last thing...YES, I know about the TDK casting/role ID/Bat-Rouges rumors out there right now -- in fact, I've known the facts about for them for a while. If you need a reason why I haven't reported them -- in addition to the fact that BOF doesn't do flat-out spoilers such as those -- is that we have a "professional" reason not to do so, if you will. If you like spoilers, you've already read them elsewhere. If you are avoiding them, just be careful what TDK news you read on the Net.

Courtroom shoot info, "Gamble" cast
Author: Jett
Tuesday, July 3, 2007

5:52 PM CENTRAL: According to an MTV.COM REPORT, Michael Jai White (SPAWN) has been cast as the gangster "Gamble" in THE DARK KNIGHT.

This Gamble is the head of one of the competing gangs trying to fill the void in Gotham's criminal underworld since the "professional" demise of Carmine Falcone (as seen in BATMAN BEGINS). Sal Maroni (Eric Roberts) is heading up the Falcone Family, while this mysterious individual known as "The Joker" (Heath Ledger) represents a new breed of criminal element in Gotham. Thanks to "Miranda Fox" for the link.

Nothing huge, but BOF's TDK FACTS section has been undated (Includes some casting info).

8:19 AM CENTRAL: "Windy City Solicitor" sent BOF THIS REPORT regarding a TDK courtroom shoot -- UPDATED: at 7:28 PM. Thanks to "E.R."

BOF has heard that the TDK production is on a break until Thursday, July 5th -- probably due to the 4th of July holiday here in the U.S. Happy 4th to everyone!

4:19 PM CENTRAL: A shoot report from Chicago (spoiler free, totally) can be found HERE.

8:31 AM CENTRAL: Christian Bale told THE STAR-LEDGER that TDK opens the door for another Batman film. So, would he be up to reprise his role as The Dark Knight after, well, TDK? Check it out:

"The script leaves room for a very interesting follow-up, too. I think we could take it somewhere else."

Christian has been quoted on several occasions that he'd be up to play Batman as long as he can and there are good stories to tell. Thanks to "December Darkly" for the link...

Remember y'all, no TDK at San Diego's Comic Con, but the will be at Wizard World Chicago in August. DO NOT go to San Diego expecting something, OK?

So, do y'all want the GOOD news or BAD news first?

11:54 PM CENTRAL: OK, here's the good news, THE DARK KNIGHT will be at the Wizard World Chicago Convention in Chicago in early August. Yea!

The BAD news is that TDK will not be at CCISD in a few short weeks. Boo! Hiss! FYI (*Jett scrambles to book travel to Chicago in early August*). Thanks to "Very Nice Person" for the heads up.
