Full disclosure: I am – or was – a big fan of BEWARE THE BATMAN and I was – and still am – quite bummed that it was canceled – allegedly – by Cartoon Network.

Boooooo!

Regardless, it looks as if Warner Bros., DC Entertainment, Cartoon Network or whoever is ultimately is in charge of the future of TV Batman endeavor, decided to pull the plug and release all completed episodes over the course of two DVD’s/Blu-ray’s.

With BEWARE THE BATMAN: SHADOWS OF GOTHAM, SEASON ONE/PART ONE, all of the episodes that aired on CN thus far – except for two – are included on this DVD/Blu-ray. If you followed BTB’s episodic/continuing storyline from episode to episode, I think you’ll enjoy the unaired “Attraction” and “Fall” as much as I did. If you remember, the end of the last aired episode, “Instinct”, set up a new storyline. These unaired episodes that are included on this disc kinda-sorta finishes it.

If you want to know what I thought about the series’ first twelve installments, CLICK RIGHT HERE (or on the BTB logos to the right and above). I’m assuming we’ll get all the other unseen, but completed, episodes in “Part Two.” If that’s it for BEWARE THE BATMAN, well, that sort of sucks. ANYWAY…

If you’re a longtime BOF’er – and simply stumbled upon me via this review – you know I’ll tell it how it is when it comes to spending money on something that I have had the opportunity to check out early and review. Thus, if you liked BEWARE THE BATMAN, I say definitely pick this up as I believe you’ll find it worthwhile. If you’re a Batman fan who never watched BTB for whatever reason, I recommend you pick this release up, give it a look, and add it to your collection of Bat-stuff. However if you were one of the folks who hated BTB for, well, whatever reason, save your cash because there’s nothing here that’s going to change your mind. - Bill "Jett" Ramey
