UPDATED (6/17/14): Per HOLLYWOODREPORTER.COM, Jason Momoa has been cast as Aquaman in BATMAN v SUPERMAN. Thus, consider what you read below almost confirmed. That will take place once Warner Bros. issues a press release. Aquaman is described by THR as "Arthur, King of Atlantis, is the ruler of the Earth's oceans and has superstrength and the ability to communicate with sea life."
Per HITFIX.COM (by was of LATINO-REVIEW.COM), Jason Momoa is playing Aquman in BATMAN v SUPERMAN. Here's an excerpt from the original report...
"While Warner Bros. hasn't made that announcement officially yet, HitFix can confirm that he will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon."
Really? Really? Not that I don't believe McWeeny, but I'll wait for the press release before I chalk it up as fact. For the full story, click on the link to the original report posted above.
It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of Batman mixing it up with super-powered beings, magic, aliens, monsters and the like. Regardless of what I believe is best for Batman on film, Warner Bros. doesn’t care and we’re going to get a Batman on film who mixes it up with super-powered beings, magic, aliens, monsters and the like. So I guess there’s no point in me complaining about it any longer. The fans who do love this sort of stuff and a Batman who mixes it up with super-powered beings, magic, aliens, monsters and the like are getting exactly what they’ve wanted – and good for them. Here’s hoping that Zack Snyder and company know what they’re doing and give us a Batman on film that doesn’t come across as silly. Batman and Aquaman on the big screen…together? The Dark Knight and a dude who lives under the ocean and talks to sea creatures. Yeah, that won’t come across silly.
BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters on MAY 6, 2016.
