Here's another installment of BOF’s BATMAN BEYOND episode reviews…

The plot of this episode -- “Blackout”-- is rather basic. Foxteca, a subsidiary of Wayne/Powers enterprises, is being sabotaged. The Terry-Batman and Bruce Wayne need to find answers. What they find however, is a bit of a shock.

I rather enjoyed this episode -- quite a bit actually. It does a great job of establishing and building upson Bruce and Terry's relationship. Seeing Bruce act as an Oracle type is a nice touch. However, as the third episode of the series, it has to establish an awful lot.

While "Rebirth" laid the ground work for the series, this episode expands on it. From the tone, to the ambience, to Derek Powers’ "radioactive personality,” the BATMAN BEYOND universe is starting to come together. It even introduces a new member into The Terry-Batman's Rogues gallery.

Bruce continues his A-holiness which actually makes you laugh the whole time. Terry's one liners are a bit much, but hey, he's 17. The villain Inque was awesomely animated, and is a fun bad girl to watch. All in all, it does a really good job of setting the tone for the rest of the series.

Like I said, I really liked this episode as it delivers on so many levels. It certainly made me anxious to see the next installment.

Oh yeah, Barbara Gordon is in it.

Commissioner Barbara Gordon, that is.
