2:44 PM TEXAS TIME: Here's what BATMAN BEGINS/THE DARK KNIGHT producer had to say about a third go-around in Gotham:

"I can't speak to that [BATMAN 3] right now. We are excited about the possibility of something coming together, but we're definitely in the stage where we're just thinking about it. Chris [Nolan] is really the one who is thinking on it."

Translation: "Um, THE DARK KNIGHT is the #2 movie of all time, so heck yeah there's going to be another Batman! We're just not saying anything publicly until the news is released by Warner Bros. -- probably next Summer. Plus, we love all the rumors and watching people freak out over them. Hahahahahaha!"

OK, I'm kidding...sort of. Anyway, here's what Gary Oldman had to say:

"I haven't heard a thing [about BATMAN 3]. I've heard the stuff being thrown around online, but nothing from official sources."

Remember, Gary was pretty sure that Chris Nolan would return and that there would be a BATMAN 3 -- or so HE TOLD ME LAST JUNE in LA.

Both Mr. Roven and Mr. Oldman were on hand for Spike TV's Scream Awards where THE DARK KNIGHT WON 12 AWARDS. For the full report, visit SCIFI.COM. AND...

bang, Bang, BANG! ;)
