Here's the latest BOF Mailbag. Thanks for all the questions and keep them coming via EMAIL, BOF's FACEBOOK PAGE, or on BOF's TWITTER.

Jett sir, who is you choice to play Bruce Wayne in a live action BATMAN BEYOND or Amanda Waller in SUICIDE SQUAD?

JETT SAYS: Clint Eastwood for Bruce in BATMAN BEYOND and I kinda hope the Oprah rumor is true when it comes to Amanda Waller in SUICIDE SQUAD. I like Viola Davis for that part as well.

I know he walked his comments back but considering that they're following MAN OF STEEL with BATMAN v SUPERMAN and that with SUICIDE SQUAD, do you think Kevin Smith's was on to something when he said that Warner Bros. was planning on telling a single story with their DC films?

JETT SAYS: Hmm…a single story like Chris Nolan did with “The Dark Knight Trilogy?” I doubt it. You can do that with 3 or 4 films, but not 8 or 9. However, it’s very likely that there will be some overlapping story threads and characters between films.

JETT SAYS: I HIGHLY doubt it. March 25, 2016 is a firm release date for BvS and I think it’s a good one as it allows BvS to kick off the 2016 Summer movie season.

There are some pretty awesome Batman novels out there. Do you have a favorite? Why is it your favorite?

JETT SAYS: I’ve read the film adaptations of all the films, so that’s about it when it comes to me reading a Batman novel. I really liked the novelization of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Of course, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS is my favorite Batman graphic novel of all time.

Having led this site so well for so many years and following filmmakers as they interpret the Bat, have you ever thought of having a go yourself – even if you wrote and directed a short Bat-film instead of feature length?

JETT SAYS: Filmmaking is not my forte and I know it! I feel that BOF’s influence on Warner Bros. back in the early 2000’s is as close I’ll ever come to that sort of thing. I’m more of a “consultant,” if you will. I think I’ve got a pretty good grasp on what will and what won’t when it comes to Batman on film….depending on whom you ask. ;)

Batfleck's Batcave: hi-tech or low-tech?

JETT SAYS: Loyal to the comics – does that work for you?

What are your thoughts on Jena Malone playing the Oracle?

JETT SAYS: I’d have no problem with that. I’m still kinda hoping she’s the character that she’s rumored to be. We’ll see.

Do you believe that a legal action would create a precedent in these cases of spoilers? I am thinking as a corporation, like Warner Bros. People involved with the movie are bound to confidentiality, sure, and the penalties should be huge of course; however, even if they never find the source, who originally leaked details of the script, I still firmly believe that whoever posts spoilers should be held liable too.

JETT SAYS: There’s not much a studio can do to the outlet that posts spoilers other than blackball them. I wish they’d do more of that, but they don’t. Why? Because, quite frankly, they need them – especially the bigger ones – when it comes to publicizing their films. There just doesn’t seem to be any real consequences for websites that post them. It’s sad, but it just the way it is.

Do you think we will see Ra's Al Ghul in GOTHAM? Or Nyssa? Or Talia?

JETT SAYS: I would hope not.

What tone/rating do you think SUICIDE SQUAD will aim for? Will it be”'mature,” i.e. an excuse to have blood, sex and deal with dark themes in a PG-13 rating (ala THE DARK KNIGHT) or aim for something a bit lighter to fit with the backlash on MAN OF STEEL being “too grim?”

JETT SAYS: As far as the rating, SUICIDE SQUAD will definitely be PG-13. From what I’ve heard, their going for a “OCEAN’S ELEVEN with supervillains” vibe.

With Oliver Queen in ARROW taking on Ra's Al Ghul in the midseason finale of Arrow, Harley Quinn appearing in the Suicide Squad episode, and there also being a clear reference to WayneTech in an earlier FLASH episode, as well as Dick Grayson/Nightwing being set for a TITANS pilot that for all intents and purposes could cross over into the other two shows as they are all owned by the same company, CBS, is it possible we will see GOTHAM, Bruce Wayne, or other GOTHAM characters like Jason Todd or Tim Drake coming to the DCW-verse? (Just coined that. BOOM. DCW-Verse it is!)

JETT SAYS: Dude, come up for a breath! No, I do not think that GOTHAM or any of its characters will cross-over into THE FLASH or ARROW the former and the latter two exist in different “universes.” Also, while all of these DC characters are all owned by Warner Bros. (well, Time-Warner, Inc., actually), there are all sorts of character use rights that come into play. I’m thinking GOTHAM will be its own thing from now until its end, while ARROW and THE FLASH might be the jumping board for other DC-based comic book series on The CW.

Hi Jett. Marvel Studio’s higher-ups structured the general tone and aesthetic of the series, while allowing the filmmakers to express their styles "within" that box (Shane Black, James Gunn, Russo Brothers). So with your knowledge, is WB/DC and Snyder doing the same thing, since they are committed to a shared universe? Or are they likely to give the filmmakers the freedom to create their own aesthetic, stories and tone?

JETT SAYS: I think that the filmmakers who come on board to helm a DC film for Warner Bros. will not have to operate in structured manner as much their counterparts who write/direct a film for Marvel Studios. Clearly, Zack Snyder’s vision of the DC Cinematic Universe will be dominant as he’s the guiding force behind BATMAN v SUPERMAN as well as the two future JUSTICE LEAGUE movies.

However, I think Warners is going to do things differently from Marvel and will allow filmmakers to have more freedom when it comes to the DC movies that Snyder isn’t directing. For example, while Snyder is directing BATMAN v SUPERMAN, Ben Affleck (allegedly, but really) had a big impact on how Batman will be portrayed in it and future films – including Batfleck’s solo Bat-flick (which he’ll likely direct). Want more proof? David Ayer writing AND directing SUICIDE SQUAD and it certainly seems that Michelle MacLaren’s going to be given a lot of leeway with the WONDER WOMAN solo flick.

Any news on a teaser trailer for BATMAN v SUPERMAN with THE HOBBIT?

JETT SAYS: Nada. Like I’ve said many times, I know it’s ready to roll, but when it drops, I’m guessing like everyone else.

Do you find it curious that they decided to launch the DCCU with a middle-aged Bruce Wayne middle at the starting point? My concern is that they have designs on replacing Bruce in the cowl. The ominous video released by the cinematographer on the day shooting wrapped sure didn't ease my concern. Do we know if Ben has a multi-film deal?

JETT SAYS: Yes, Ben Affleck signed a multi-deal contract that calls for BvS, both JUSTICE LEAGUE films as well as – allegedly – a solo film that he might direct. Personally, I like that fact that this Batman is of my generation and share the same hair color.
